Question about Car Audio & Video
Hello members:I recently pick up a used Luxman digital Synthesized AM/FM Stereo Receiver R-115 together with disc player D-373 and the cassette deck K-110W from garage sale without remote controls and owner’s manual. I am a retiree not very familiar with audio connections, without the owner’s manual, I can barely able to put the Compact Disc Player D-373 and the Stereo Dual Cassette Deck K-110W together with the R-115 and it works well. When I connect my old turntable (Lenco L-75) to the R115's PHONO, it doesn’t work (it works well with my other receiver); also, the AM / FM radio are both quiet. I check the speaker connections which is OK (as I said before it works well on tape deck & CD player), I don't have an antenna instead, I put a copper wire approximately 24" length to the FM loop, but I don't have an antenna for AM because I don't know how to do it. The results:- There are different frequencies and signal strength shown on window for AM but no sound even when I cranked the volume to the maximum; on the FM, there are a few weak signals on the window, some of them I can barely hear it when I crank the volume to maximum. I have no idea if the R-115 needs repair or just I don’t know how to do the connections. Members who have the Owner's manual for this model R-115, please jump in (I have checked almost the entire web including dealers and Luxman Corp Japan/Korea without luck). All members in this community, please extend your helping hand for guidelines and suggestions, I need all the helps I can possibly get. Thank you folks in anticipation. User-pat4307
Unless your record player has a built in ground that you can attach to the luxman,, your luxman wont play it. Luxman requires your record player to be grounded. I had the same problem and my solution was to get a luxman record player so it can be perfectly matched up. Hope that helped
