BT Diverse 6350 - caller display not presented as formal list - I get some names and numbers and (incorrect) times and dates

Caller ID
If you subscribe to caller ID service, information about each caller appears after the first or second ring. If you answer a call before the caller information appears on the screen, it will not be saved in the caller ID log. The caller ID log stores up to 50 entries. Each entry has up to 24 digits for the phone number and 15 characters for the name. If the telephone number has more that 15 digits, only the last 15 digits appear. If the name has more than 15 characters, only the first 15 characters are shown and saved in the caller ID log. Review a caller ID log entry Press CID when the phone is not in use. Scroll to browse through the caller ID log. When the desired entry appears: Press repeatedly to show different dialing options. Press 1 repeatedly if you need to add or remove 1 in front of the phone number. Press or to dial the displayed number. "If you are using your phone on a broadband line make sure you fit an ADSL microfilter between the telephone line cord and the telephone socket."
I'm guessing you have one on the landline, probably next to the router but not the handset base :-)

Using the Caller ID and Redial Lists
Caller ID (CID) is a service available from your telephone provider that shows the phone number (and sometimes the caller's name) of incoming calls. Contact your telephone provider for more information.

Redial list



When a call comes in, the phone displays the number and name (if available) of the caller.
The phone saves the information for the last 30 received calls to the

CID list.
When it's in standby, the handset shows how many calls came in since the last time you checked the CID list.


Each handset remembers the last 5 numbers you dialed on it. The redial list is separate for each handset.

When a call is received it will automatically set the time and date. To change the display contrast hold down the 'delete' button while toggling one of the other buttons. Hold the delete button down until the 'select,mem,mode' is displayed and choose between '25 name & number' or '64 numbers' . Make sure the batteries are good and the batt indicator in top left corner of display is off. I think that is all the features this early model unit was capable of.

Long Distance calls and Area Code Setting/Cancellation
While the present Caller ID information is displayed, pressing */tone/< will place
or remove the prefix "1" in the display to set the call for a long distance call, or
pressing #/> will set or cancel an area code (see page 30).
Storing Caller ID messages in the Phonebook
Messages shown in the Caller ID list can be stored in the phonebook. The phone
number and name of the party on the Caller ID list can be stored in memory.
1) When the phone is in standby mode, select the Caller ID message to be stored.
Then press the STORE soft key on the base or the EDIT soft key on the handset.
From the handset, then select E D I T ?. S t o r e / E d i t N a m e appears. If the Caller ID
message is already stored in memory, you will hear a beep and T h i s d a t a i s
a l r e a d y s t o r e d ! ! appears. The number will not be stored.
2) To complete the setting, follow the steps 3-8 in "Phonebook (Storing Phone
Numbers, Names, Distinctive Rings, and Speed Dial)" on pages 42-43.
