Astoria double overfills with water

I bought a used Astoria double and plumbed it into water. When turned on it over fills and spills out of the top of the boiler. I have replaced the auto fill box but to no avail. Any suggestions?

It is like the auto shut off doesn't work. It over flows out of the top of the boiler. Some float should tell it when it is full but it doesn't. I have already replaced the auto fill box that plugs in but it didn't make a difference. When the water is turned on it just keeps filling until it overflows from the top of the boiler.

I'm sorry, I don't know where the float switch would be. The box I replaced is just a plug in box with a computer board inside. I checked the probe on top of the boiler and cleaned it. I just don't know what else to check. It is an older machine but said to be maintained recently.

I would expect a float switch to be in the tank where the water comes in to begin the coffee-making cycle.

If you can inspect that, look for something which would move up and down as the water level changes.

I'm sorry I don't know the details of this machine, but when you replaced the auto fill box, did that include a float switch as well?

Sounds like something is clogged. Is the water that gets into the coffee filter going into the pot. I'm not sure exactly where it's overflowing -- just probing here.

The machine froze at some point, one of the exchangers are busted, you will havew to replace the exchangers or the boiler depending on the model.

Washing machine does not stop filling with water and overflows ge top loader wlsr2000g3ww model number

The water fill valve (the plastic thing that the hot and cold hoses go to) has an obstruction (piece of rust or minerals from the plumbing) and the valve won't fully close. A speck in the right place is enough to cause overfilling.

or

The water level switch is defective.

or

The tubing that is attached to the level switch is loose or off. This hose must be tight on the fittings.

You'll want to back flush the machine with espresso machine cleaning powder:

Had a LD error and successfully cleared clog in waste water tank. Turned it on and pump worked perfectly to pump out water. Started a new cycle to test everything and things went wrong. First, the tub...

If the water keeps filling with the unit unplugged you have a bad water valve(or low house pressure)
If the unit does stop filling when unplugged you have a plugged pressure hose to the pressure switch or a bad pressure switch. To access you peel back the front emblem to remove a screw in the center. This allows you to raise the top to check the pressure hose. You can also find the end of the hose at the control panel to blow through it, should be clear when tub is empty of water. A hole in the pressure hose would also cause flooding. This hose connects from the bottom of the outer tub to the pressure switch in the console to control the water level in the tub. Unit will not turn on drain pump if it does not sense water in the tub......
good luck......

Check the following:
1. Is the overfill protection float able to move up and down
freely? Press down to release.
2. Be sure the water supply is turned on to the dishwasher.

3. Check for suds in the dishwasher. If foam or suds are
detected by the dishwasher sensing system, the
dishwasher may not operate properly or may not fill with
water.
Suds can come from:
1. Using the incorrect type of detergent, such as
laundry detergent, hand soap, or dish detergent for
hand washing dishes.
2. Forgetting to replace the rinse aid dispenser cap
after filling (or refilling) the rinse aid, or spilling rinse aid into the tub (rinse aid causes suds to occur).
3. Using an excessive amount of dishwasher detergent.

Water will not stop filling tub.

the problem is that your pressure switch is not working properly. if you take the screws out of the back of the head you will find the pressure switch. first unplug the washer then undo the hose from pressure switch. blow trew the hose, then blow into the pressure switch if you hear the pressure switch click then re assemble and try again put on small load and watch if fills almost to the top or over flows replace pressure switch
