PC Problem after installing Kingston PC3200 1G in my Asus P4PE-X

My computer started to hang whenever I open or run a program after I installed Kingston PC3200 1G in my Asus P4PE-X, I use before a 512 MB of PC333.  What could be the problem?  Thanks.

Although i agree with ardmax's solution. Another thing to bear in mind....... in my experience at least, Kingston memory has quite a few compatibility issues. In my job we use a wide range of HP PC's and laptops, some of them will happily use Kingston and some simply refuse to boot.
I have heard of other compatibility problems as well but I'm not 100% sure of which manufacturers have this problem and I don't want to start bad mouthing the innocent

Rule of thumb with memory, you get what you pay for (most of the time)

As you can see in the manual http://www.bcom.de/ftp/treiber/Asus/Hanb%FCcher/p4pe-x_e1303.pdf page 1-13 to use a memory PC3200 you must have a processor working at 800 MHz FSB, now you probably have a processor running at 533 MHz FSB.

Have you run a Virus scan and a malware scan? when you say" Whenever i use it, for about 2 min to 3 min, the computer started to hang and not responding" whenever I use it means what just moving the cursor or going online, opening a program etc. could you be a bit more specific that would help in the diagnosis.

Hi there.
You can try and resolve this problem by performing a system restore.
Click on the start menu/orb, select all programs, then accessories, then system tools and system restore.
Open the program and take the computer back to before it installed the updates.
If system restore is not in the menu, type rstrui in the search bar.

I also recommend you leave the computer to finish its update process because it can take some time to complete.

Please post back if anymore help is required.

Good luck

Re-check your manual at pg. 1-12. 1.9.1 Memory Configurations.
Since you know one bank of memory works fine in a certain slot. Now try the other in the same slot.

P4PE Motherboard system hangs on 2 memory banks

you need to check in your bios settings for the amt of physical memory setting. alsoexamin the board for defect. if all that is good then follow the following instructions

1.)Unplug computer
2.)remove memory
3.)switch jp1 to clear ( the jumpewr that clears the bios is called jp1 its located close to the battery and it has 3 pins and 1 jmper) the pin set will be on 1 and 2 , simply set it to 2 and 3)
4.) Hit the power button 5 times to clear all remains of eletricity
5.) REPLACE JUMPER TO 1 AND 2
6.) replace memory
7.) boot up system
8.) on the main boot screel it should say no bios settings enter setup
9.) enter setup and load optimal defaults
10.) save and exit
