Question about Kenmore 24 in. 16222 Built-in Dishwasher
Your unit is trying to tell you that the door is not closed or the door switch is not working properly. i would guess that you will have to call someone out to repair the latch and switch as it has to have the control panel removed to gain access to the latch that holds the switches.
i would guess to have it replaced could cost about 120 to 150 bucks.
before you do call, make sure the door is closed properly and nothing is stopping the door, like a long handle or a dish sticking out the racks.

There is a fault obviously, start to check for things in this order
water supply to unit
actually i think it could be the water supply as you said it does nothing before beeping, if the water supply is going to the machine it could be the solenoid, thats the part thats let the water in to the machine, this part is difficult to replace on most models
