A humming noise when my battery is connected to the laptop.

When the battery is connect to the laptop it hums and does not turn on. If the battery is disconnected and it is running on the cable then the laptop works fine. But if connected to the powercord/charger and running and then the battery is connected the laptop shut off. What is the problem. Is it a bad battery or is it something in the laptop?????

Thanks for your help

Hi there.
The problem is battery if the machine works on AC power only, you will have to get a new battery or continue to use it on mains power until you can get a new battery.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Car makes a humming electrical noise under hood, when I try to start it just clicks

The humming noise might be your cooling fan(s) coming on with the key in the "on" position. Check your battery connections for corrosion. Have someone jump the battery to see if the additional amps will turn the starter. Sounds like a bad starter though. I would need to know the year, make, model to be more helpful.

Check the speaker cables for connectivity. Be sure to securely plug in the stereo jack/s at the back of your pc

Guitar amp continuous humming from speaker

Firstly, do not disconnect the speakers from the amp when it is on. Damage is possible.

You have a bad ground somewhere in the hookup. The first suspect would be your guitar-to-amp cord shielding connections at each plug, then, the wiring in your guitar. Try changing each of these to another as a trial, one at a time.

98 chevy tracker wont start, just makes a small humming noise. it's not the battery so im not sure what it is.

I would need to know where the noise is coming from.
The starter could have failed, or you could have a bad connection between the starter and the battery.

My acoustic research hd510 has a loud humming noise

check your audio line in connection, either L or R signal line floating may also cause humming noise. Sub woofer usually very sensitive. If your audio input not connected, do you still hear humming noise? in actual you should not hear such noise, unless volume at max then it is possible to hear little.

Sounds like a problem in the speakers' internal power supply, maybe a faulty capacitor. Speakers need to be looked at by a technician, or replaced with a new set.

I have a pair of JM lab Electra 905 speakers, running through a DNM amp and power amps. When powered up, the left speaker makes a very loud humming noise. This has happened recently. I haven't changed...

Hello
Switch on your amp, keep its volue down to extreme low, and listen if there is still hum through the left channel or not. If still there is hum, the left side power amplifier section inside the amp;ifier is faulty. If htere is no hum at this state, hum enters thorugh the audio input terminal, and the input wires must be checked for open sheild connection. OK.

Device is making a whistling sound or humming sound. It still has power and is powering the devices plugged into the back up system.

Is the unit running on battery power? A hum is normal when the inverter is running.

if it is CONSTANTLY making a humming noise, it is possible the unit is failing. Check your battery inside the unit, make sure it does not look swollen at all. If it is, you know the unit is failing and overcharging the battery. If it is not, pull the power cable from the outlet and see if it provides back up power and then plug it back in.

If the connected equipment stays on line, then the unit is working fine however I would consider buying a replacement UPS in the near future, a constant hum all the time is a bad sign.

does the hum occur when playing a dvd or only when watching tv ? if the hum occurs only when watching tv, i would like you to disconnect the cable line from either the wall or the back of the cable box and see if this hum disappears. if the hum disappears call your cable company. you have what is called a " 60 cycle ground loop ". hope this helps.
