Question about Sharp Aquos LC-13B2U 13 in. LCD Television

2 Answers

My Sharp Aquos started turning off by itself about two weeks ago. It would flash off and then turn back on -- no problem after that. Then the problem grew more and more frequent until this last weekend, it stopped turning on at all. What's up with it?

We have the same problem. TV starting shutting off by itself and would sometimes come back on and sometimes not. If the TV went black the green power light would remain lit. We would press the power button to try to get the TV to come back on and nothing would happen - the green power light would remain lit. If we unplugged the TV and plugged it back in, the TV would come back on and be ok for awhile or it might start going off and on again. Now the TV is totally black and the green power light is off as well.

Mine has starting having the same behavior. This feels like there's a thermal relay that is malfunctioning -- as if it decides something is too hot and is shutting itself off. I have noticed if I unplug and wait a while, it will again work, but it goes increasingly short times before shutting off again. The unit is out of warranty, so I plan to take it apart and find the thermal relay and see how easy it would be for me to replace it. Otherwise, off the the repair shop.

This is due to a bad pc control board in the t.v. i had the same problem and that was the only way to fix it. i had to call sharp and they sent a tech to my house to install the new part.

My Aquos TV turned its self off and now it wont turn turn back on.

Turned off by itself means overheated in the circuits. If it is condensation, leave the standby on for a few weeks. Try using it to see if it will turn on for a short time.

If power light continuously flashing it means backlight problem. Two possible causes. One, backlight invertor is faulty. Two, but realy rare, one of the CCFL lamps went bad.

Sharp aquos red flashing light tv won't get picture

if the tv is still under the manufactuer warranty i would definitly give them a call. If it is a Sharp tv I would call the 1-87-BESHARP. I would also try unplugging the tv for at least 2-3 minutes and seeing if the tv will reset itself. Usually what happens with these tv's when the light blinks it locks the tv as a security issue. If the unplug does not help it will more than likely need service to get this fixed for you. The call line hours are M-F 7am-7pm S-S 9-5 and they will be glad to help you from there.

According to Sharp it is a software problem. Engineer came, installed software update ,10 minute job.....TV worked fine for 1/2 day unfortunately: Then images turned black and white in all channels TV turned itself off, and stanby and OPC buttons started flashing. When TV came back on its own 10 mins later , screen had 2 large square staines superimposed in image (as if it was a burnt screen)...Engineer will be back next week...all quite sad really for a new TV.....will keep u posted
