See itf you can find someone who can try a different phone on that phone cord.
It may be a bad battery, or the phone line may be dead.
That is why I suggested you try another phone to see if a dial tone will come through that one.
If you get that dial tone on another phone, then suspicion a bad battery or battery charger.
God bless your efforts.
Try:
Turn off power for the base.
Turn off phone and take out batteries.
Wait few seconds then put batteries back.
Will help if you unplug and plug the cables.
Make sure that your pnone is nor in silent mode. Now go to menu>settings>profile>genaral>edit
Now you can select youe ring tone and volum, key tone,,,,,,
Or you can use volume keys
Place the telstra 8100 handset in the charger. Call any number while the handset is in the charger and it should dial out - you can hear the dial tone now. Take the handset out of the charger and you should be able to call normally.
cheers Matt
You will need to get a full charge on the phones, before using them, and plugging them into the phone jack. The 2nd phone is dependent of the main phone working properly.
I disconnected the RadioShack phone/answering machine and plugged in an old phone. At first I didn't get a dial tone, but in a minute or so, I did get one. I doublechecked the connection with the incoming phone jack. (I had checked this before, but didn't see anything wrong.) Again, I didn't see anything wrong, but maybe that did it. Also, when I disconnected the RadioShack from the incoming phone jack, I disconnected from my computer (I used to have dial-up connection).
Don't know which of my actions worked, but now I have dial tone on Radio Shack.
Hoooooooray!!!!
Lisa,
If the 900MHZ phone is Model 26928M programming for rotary dial usually goes like below, can't hurt to try on any model.
TONE/PULSE DIALING
This adjustment allows you to select tone (touch-tone) or pulse (rotary) mode dialing. The phone is pre-set for
touch-tone use. To set to tone or pulse dialing:
1. Press and hold the program button for two seconds. You will hear a beep.
2. Press the *tone button to select Tone Dialing or press #pause to select Pulse Dialing.
3. Press the program button again. You will hear a confirmation tone.
