Hi, Sounds like the coils on the top of the gas valve are not opening after they get hot. This is a very common problem with a gas dryer. How clean is the vent that goes outside?

Let me know ifI can help further.

Thanks
Vic

You most likely need to change the coils on the gas valve.

Thermostat maybe? The fact that it is heating would indicate that all the circuits are good. I am thinking you damaged the thermostat - the metal expands with heat which breaks the contact and when it cools the metal flattens out to make a closed circuit - turning on the heat which then heats the metal and once again expands making the metal curve away to open the circuit,

The dryer is not heating the clothes. The clothes are therefore not drying.
