Question about Aiwa Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Good day,i have an aiwa HX-A1000 stereo system with a 3 cd changer, casette player/recorder,and 5.1 surround sound. After having it in storage for several years,i have lost the owner's manual and cannot seem to get the auto reverse cassette deck to work.I wanted to consult with the manual, but it costs 10 dollars for the pdf file, this cassette player is like none i have ever seen, and when i place a cassette in the tray and close it,the player reads one side and then the other and then shuts off as if no tape were loaded.I have no clue what's wrong. Also my volume jog dial will only increase volume when i turn it either direction.any info you can help me with would be greatly apreciated.Thanks,Joe.

There is a problem with the stereo firmware. It is not anything you are doing wrong. It is a common problem with all Aiwa's. If you are handy with electronical repair, you can test and replace the bad resistors. Otherwise, it will have to be taken in for diagnostic testing.

Make one. Take speaker wire, split the pairs apart so you have about 4 feet separated, twist the ends together, make a T shape and hook up the other end to the Stereo. Hang it on a wall maintaining a T shape.

Won't play any disc on any of the 5 slots boom box also has casette player that records

Laser is either dirty, so a lense cleaning disc required. Or the cd transport is kaput. Uneconomical to repair if this is the case

I have an Aiwa X-88H stereo system I purchased in 1989 It went into storage in 1999 Powered up today for first time since then and both casette decks do not work

It's been 8 years since you've used the system, so over time, the belts may have dry-rotted. Most likely, it's the belts. You can see if you can get them replaced, or, if you know what you're doing, you can replace them yourself.

I also have a LG FA163DAB what won't eject a CD.

Hi there! I have one of these units and there appear to be 2 LOCKS on it. The first is a general LOCK probably to prevent people from fiddling with the controls while on display on the shopfloor. This lock is activated and removed by pressing the STOP key on the remote and on the front of the unit at the same time for 5-10 seconds. The second lock is a CD player lock which comes on automatically (I think) when the unit is moved to prevent damage to the laser inside. Does anyone know how to remove this lock? It has been on for about 3 days now and it is not explained in the user manual. My CD is stuck inside and I cannot listen to anything else but the CD which is inside the unit!

Old Aiwa Speaker Assistance.

Considering you only have 3 speakers, I would think you would be further ahead by purchasing an entirely new system.

In terms of brands, I'd recommend finding a complete set up that's in the price range that you would like to spend.

Surround Sound using the video feature

You will not get 'surround sound' from this set only stereo sound. The Video/Aux jack at the back of the unit is an input terminal. You can connect the audio part of your TV(if it has a Line Out jack), dvd player or video game console to this input to get the sound through the stereo system. Use a male-to-male RCA cable to make the connection, they are color coded (Red and White). Press the "Video/Aux"  button to select the input terminal.

YAMAHA CD PLAYER WON'T PLAY

GG  My kids had a PlayStation 2 that did this and so did my AIWA 3 CD player.  The solution for the PlayStation was to remove the cover use alcohol and clean the lens of the laser reader.  They get dust on them and simply cannot read.  The AIWA required replacement of the laser which cost almost as much as the unit and didn't last 6 months.

CD Changer

Common Problem with AIWA 3 disc machines. I have 3 in my service shop right now. For tray not rolling in on it's own, the drive rollers have to be changed, along with the Drive Belt. Also, for CD not reading, try CD lens cleaner.
