You have to make sure you have power first.
See if the power supply is working by checking the fan in the back of the machine. If you have power, then when you turn on the power button see if the green indicator is on or the red led light. If you still have no activity then you need to open the case with the power un-plugged please!!! then remove the memory cards, then place them back in. carefully because they are delicate. connect everything then turn the power on. If you still have no power, then start by replacing the (1) power supply, then the (2) video card, then the (3)memory cards. One step at a time until the machine turns on, after each new part turn the machine on, make sure the case is closed please when you turn on the computer.
If these parts you replace still does not work then the computer´s motherboard is burned out, then replace that if possible. Hope this helps.

Hi can you help me

Yes, I"m sure some Fixya expert can help you if you describe
your problem. Please use complete sentences - like "When I turn my computer on the power light comes on and the fans start but the monitor screen remains dark." Not something like " Don't work"

I have an averatech 3200, the screen suddenly become dark, after reboot, it will only bring the Averatec logo page, and then it will remain dark. Is there something wrong with the monitor?

If you are getting the logo in the beginning that means screen is fine. Reset defaults for BIOS and try booting your computer with the help of disk.

The screen kept winking out because the brightness setting was too dark, something to do with the tolerance perhaps?

Booting problem and blue screen

Try booting the MAC OS disk. If it boots correctly, it probably is the hard drive. Also, If it boots ok, try the repair utility on the cd.

Laptop screen does not show desktop and remains blank after boot.

This is a driver loading problem, where the OS is trying to load a communication layer for a device which then fails and drives the machine into a steady loop. Unplug all devices and cards from the machine and reboot. If this works normally, you have a device driver problem with one of the things you have plugged in and need to troubleshoot it from there. If it still hangs, I bet you have a bad video driver (or USB driver). Reboot to SAFE MODE and then try changing the drivers for video and USB (and then motherboard drivers if any) to Microsoft standard distribution drivers until you get a normal boot and know which device/driver set are causing the trouble. Then hunt up updated drivers for that device on the web. Vista especially is very driver buggy.

If all else fails, reinstall the operating system using the REPAIR option.

Good luck...
