The most comprehensive information that I have found is located at Computerhope.com
Floppy diskette stuck in floppy drive

If the above does not work then you will need to replace the floppy drive and take apart the old floppy drive to remove the disk.

How to remove a cover on a gateway E-6610D desktop computer

Unscrew a green large knob screw in the back, then the cover of the case should slide backwards. It will be tight because it fits snugly into place, but just push backwards and it will break free and reveal the insides to you.

Unformat floppy disk emulator

Your questions,what does it mean?
If you use PA50SD,of course you don't need floppy emulator.
If you use PA50 with floppy emulator, you need to format the flashdisk with special softwares (SFD 1.23 etc) that usually included when you buy the emulator.

Unformat floppydisk emulator

Floppy emulator can't read flashdisk untill it formatted.
Flashdisk MUST BE format by special softwares.
Install the softwares on the PC/notebook.
No matter how much flashdisk capacity, floppy emulator will continue to read as one 1.44MB floppy.
Through special softwares formater, we can determine how many floppy that we will create. Lets say,100 floppy (or more),softwares will format the floppy 1.44 100 times on the flashdisk.
So we have 100 pieces 1.44MB floppy inside flashdisk. If one floppy can store about 30 MIDI songs, then it means that we already have 3000 songs in flashdisk.
If you format for 100 floppy, the total capacity of about 144MB.
So,flashdisk with a 2GB capacity, is more than enough to store songs.
To change from one floppy to enother, just press bank number at floppy emulator panel.
I hope this helps.
Regards.

What model Lenovo ??...

Because PC makers no longer include floppy drives in computers, many new PC users have never used one.
Nevertheless, there are many occasions when a floppy drive can be the most convenient form of file storage and transfer for small files.
On most Lenovo ThinkCentre PCs, a floppy drive is an add-on option and most packages do not include the device unless you specifically request it.
If you purchased a ThinkCentre PC without a floppy drive, you can add one to the system yourself and save some money vs. taking the system to a shop.

Shut down the ThinkCentre computer.
Disconnect the AC power cord and other peripherals.
Move the computer to a sturdy work surface.
WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL.
http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules
Only work inside the computer case when the power has been switched off and disconnected. Never open the power source.
Some of the below steps recommend removing physical parts within the computer.
While in the computer it is highly recommend that you be aware of ESD and its potential hazards

Use your fingers to push inward on the two buttons on either side of the computer.
Lift upward on the front edge of the cover to open it.
Open the cover until it stands at a 90-degree angle to the computer chassis.

Disconnect the ribbon cable from the optical drive.
Lift up on the rear edge of the drive bay tray until you can see the rear of the CD/DVD drive.
Orient the new floppy drive so that the diskette slot faces down.
Connect the floppy drive cable to the motherboard.
Slide the floppy drive part way into the floppy drive slot.
While holding the floppy drive, connect the other end of the cable to the diskette drive.
Lock the ZIF connector on the cable, then slide the drive all the way into the slot.
Slide the blue drive lock downward to secure the floppy drive in the slot tray.
Close the cover and reconnect all cables.
Power on the computer.
The ThinkCentre BIOS detects the new floppy drive automatically and configures it as the "A:\" drive on your computer.

I have an old floppy disk and have to get info off of it....how do i do that....when i put it in the slot it keeps telling me to please insert a disk in drive A

The floppy is not detected by the unit. Try to use another floppy unit, from another pc - if even there it's not recognized then the floppy is dead and the data is lost.

Where is the insert for the floppy disc

The floppy disk may or may not be installed in section 5. They started eliminating floppy drives some years ago, when USB flash started to become popular.

FlexBay drive panel
Can contain an optional floppy drive or optional Media Card Reader. For information on using the Media Card Reader, see Using a Media Card Reader (Optional).

If your question was more basic than this, and you have a floppy drive, then you just insert the floppy into the slot. It doesn't open. Look for the arrow on the floppy disk, if it doesn't go in one way, turn it over.

Unless you feel like becoming MacGuiver for a few minutes, my suggestion is to order a new floppy from tigerdirect.com. Many to choose from, including card readers, and they're all dirt cheap.

If you do feel like roll playing as Richard Dean Anderson, here's what you'll need to do:

- Remove the floppy drive from the case after shut down and unplug.

- Remove the floppy face-plate to gain access to the front-side internal mechanics.

- There may be a broken rivet connecting the button to lever or a broken spring... anything that's out of place and just hanging or floating about.

- If you can identify the broken or loose part, you may now become MacGuiver and attempt to 'fix' the problem by whatever means you can think of.

Uhm... it's 2009. Why are you still using floppy's? Not to be rude or anything, but 3.5's went obsolete when the SD card came. My opinion is: get rid of the floppy drive. It's useless. There's a card reader that will fit in the slot and a wide variaty of cards that hold far more data and more securely than the ole 3.5.

Nexxtech usb external floppy won't eject

Look for a very small round hole in the plastic "cabinet" near the media slot (on one side) and gently poke a small paper clip (unbent, of course, first) in to manually eject the disk.
