Disc is spinning and not reading

what player do you have.
it can be the lazer thats dirty or the main board thats not taking in the info.

open the player.(remove the casing)
switch the player on
open the tray and then close it.(don't put a disc in.)
see if there is a red light shining at the lens.

if you see no red light your lazer is faulty.

if you do see a red light just take a cotton **** en gently rub it over the lens.
