Question about Conair Health & Beauty

1 Answer

Wont turn on after fully charged.

I have 2 Infinity Conair Model # GMT800CS. I charge both until the screen shows fully charged. When I remove the chargers, I press the power button on each and the screen only blinks once. Cannot get trimmers to turn on.

There was a whole series of GMT800CS trimmers which seem to have had defective rechargeable batteries. I changed the ones in mine after a similar problem arose and it works fine. The instructions on how to get to the batteries are in the manual which is supplied. You will need 2 AA NI-MH batteries, but I do not recall if they were the type with tabs or not. You can buy the ones with tabs at Radio Shack. Hope your problem is the same and I am almost sure it is.

    UPDATE.

Sorry! The batteries in the Conair GMT800 are not AA. They are custom made batteries which are the size of an AAA (2 of these) and are 2.4VDC, 350 mAh, Ni-MH. Impossible to buy. I have no idea if Conair has them as a part. I can explain how to open the unit to get to them, but this is all not a simple process. All in all I have not been able to repair my unit (the one I mentioned earlier was a different model which has AA's with tabs, so that was easy enough).

I have also had this problem with two of the same models. Conair is telling me that they have never had any reported problems but I have had two that do the exact same thing now. I took the first one back after a month it would not turn on after charging.... and then when I got the replacement trimmer, it did the exact same thing after a month or two. They are garbage.

My ds lite wont turn on. When I switch it on, The screens flash and it turns off again! It still charges, What ddo I do. I dont want to buy a new one!

Try removing the battery and putting it back in. Let it charge fully until the charge indicator goes away and then try again. If you are still having issues, it sounds like the device has become corrupted.

Jensen SMPV-2GBUB wont turn on or charge

How to get the Jensen mp3 to charge - model smpv-2gbub,

transparent-pixel._v42752373_.gifIgnore instructions that came with it - they don't work.

Here's how to charge - I discovered this with mine:
1.When computer is on and at windows screen, attach cable from computerto mp3player with mp3 turned player off. It will immediately show you aconnect screen on the mp3 player.

2. pressed the left side middle button twice - this will turn it on and go into music like you're playing a song.

3.Now turn the mp3 player on by switching the button on the right side ofthe device to the on position. It will suddenly show you it's charging- the battery on the front of the mp3 player will have a signal pulsingthrough it.

4. It will turn off after one minute. It's literallyhalf charged now. Strange I know. Repeat from step 1 and it will fullycharged.

If it doesn't fully charge after it turns itself offafter 1 minute the 2nd time, then repeat steps from 1, one more time, but this time when it turns itself off after a minute, still leave itconnected to the computer for 10 mins even though it looks like it'soff. Then disconnect it physically from computer, turn it on with theon button on the right side, press the left side middle button twiceand look at the battery on the screen - it should be fully charged now.

Philips mp3 player sa6045

This player shows the "Do not disconnect" message when it is doing something critical such as transferring tracks or updating firmware, which could corrupt the player if disconnected part way through.

The player shows the "OK to disconnect" when it is idle. As the message says, it's ok to disconnect, as the player will not corrupt if disconnected when it is idle.

These messages mean that the player does not need the "Safe to remove" procedure.

It is ok to disconnect part way through charging. Also the player will condition the battery once it is fully charged, so it's ok to leave it charging.

Occassionally batteries can "memorise" when constantly disconnect and reconnected without fully charging and discharging. To help prevent this, fully discharge the player (leave on until dead) and fully charge and condition (leave charging for about 12 hours) every couple of weeks or so.

you simply fried your battery by overcharging it. Just get a new one, let it fully charge and fully die twice before you start normal charging. Then you will want to only charge it for about 2 to 3 hours or find a charger that has a smart chip that tells it when to stop charging once the battery is full.
