Question about Televison & Video

I had the Daytec TV Plasma 42" on for several hours and it just died after making a grinding noise. I checked all conections and power sources. I am getting no light on the plasma tv. Other indicators are showing an active LCD light.

    Hi,

Tried your solution but plasma TV still dead. The LCD ready light did not come on or respond as before. It was a good suggestion but it might be some other internal short. Do you have any other ideas.

As before, I have a completely dead daytec plasma tv and the other devices (DVD player XBOX 360) have indicator lights and sork. No change with leaving it unpluged, I will try to leave it unplugged for a longer time but I am not likely to get a response. Could it be the power supply. Help please

If the TV is dead - no lights etc. the power supply board (or a component on the board) has failed.
Please don't attempt this repair - as there are potentially lethal energy stored inside, and they need to be properly discharged before repair.

Unfortunately - There is no easy end-user "quick fix". Having the power off for an extended time will have no effect on the unit.

Thanks for using FixYa!!

Plasma hd tv takes hours to turn on. must plug and unplug for about 45 mins

Some components from the power source of your tv are dying and the embedded protection system detects that and blocks it to prevent further damage. Immediately stop trying to start it and call a repairman now, while the damage is still fixable, otherwise you will end up without the tv.
