You have 2 options. You can write to Microsoft or to HP about your Issue & they might be able to help about the ID issue. Best I would suggest you buy the OS. ( Full installation Pack) this way you have nothing to worry.

Here's what your going to do, your going to do a military type wipe with a disk called Hirens disk. On it your going to boot to cd,then hard drive tools, then more menu, more again. You should the be at WDClear 1,38., you will do a clean wipe of zero and this will eliminate any traces of info that the format might have left behind. When finished put in the recovery disk and install Windows with quick format, if this doesn't work then you need to find another Xp disk.

I accidentally reformated my HP Recovery D: drive. How can I restore the recovery files?

The easiest way is to order a recovery disc from HP, if not it can be a long and complictes process, that may not even work.

If the file (not overwritten), and the partition is still intact, then you can use 3rd party software like Stellar, Wonderhare, or the free Recuva.

Hp zd 8000 boots in safe mode, but normally it gives me a blank screen. Hard drive error code #1-07error. Reformated and still the same issue.

you should run the chkdsk utility sit back and watch it recover the lost files it might take some time
click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive or
click start control panel administrive tools, computer management ,disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now, start should schedule this task when restart
do not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage your computer
then defragment your hard drive
hope this helps

I reformated my Archos 7 internet media tablet and I lost all the original settings How can i get the original setting and applications back

You can use system recovery option by following these steps
Press and hold the button to turn on your device.
When the screen turns on, immediately press and hold the Volume + button until the Recovery mode starts (white screen).
Since the system recovery mode is activated, the touchscreen is currently disabled. To move from an option to another, use the volume buttons. To validate an option, press the ON/OFF button.
you can get help from downloading manual from here
Hope it helps if so do rate the solution,
good luck

How to reformat back to windows vista ?

You need a windows Vista disc. Insert the disc and follow the prompts. I would format the hard drive instead of upgrading do a new install. The best way would be to go into your bios and make sure the boot device order has the cd-rom booting before the hard drive. Then put the disc in and start the computer, when it says press any key to boot from cd hit any key and let it load and then follow the prompts to install.

You can't downoad XP.

On the back of your PC Case should be a sticker with the phone number for Systemax. Call them, answer their questions about the serial number etc. and be prepared to pay for a recovery CD/DVD for your unit. Ask for detailed instructions with the Recovery disc or call them back once you have it in hand. They are only an 800 number away.

If you can't find the phone number for your case unit build you can try this number: 800 262 6622
