I cannot acces internet through D-Link DSL502T router

When I try to access the internet, google will not open.  I have been in touch with my service provided, dodo, without success.  However, I found that if I enabled DMZ in the router, I can go online.  I have been told this leaves me open to viruses.  Is this true & if so, do you have any suggestions.  I have Norton 360 on my computer & my service provider says it could be causing the problem.  I have disabled the Norton firewall, but still cannopt access the internet.  Only when I enable DMZ can I go online.  Can you suggest anything please?

Looks like DHCP service was snot configured properly, you should define some range of IP addresses it will provide, like to for example - look for that settings on your D-Link and try to enter this. Then your PC net card setting should be set up to obtain IP address automatically. Moreover, see also this topic

What router are you using? You will probably need to open some ports.

How long is guarantee for RT-N66U router

It might be BAD SERVICE from your ISP. If signal is not constant, the router gets "unsinchronized" and you can't connet.
If it is a hardware issue and it is on warranty, you can get service from provider. How long is warranty? It should be indicated on the bill of the store where you bought it. If no indicatio, call them by phone and ask. If you don't have any paper acrediting when you bought the router, propably you have no way to ask for warranty.
Warranty tim is variable from one month to 2 years. Sometines factory warranty might be 2 years but the store where you bought it only gives you one month. In this case an option is to contact directly the official distribitor.

I am having problems getting conected to the internet on a daily basis. When it happens the orange light on the router is flashing. Checked all connections each time & all seem ok. Please advise.

I would contact your internet service provider. There is likely something wrong with your line that is causing your router to loose signal. I don't know what type of router you have, but a loss of signal usually causes that. There are other reasons, such as, your modem is going bad, your cable from the modem to the router has an internal break in a wire, your router could be going bad as well. Try power cycling both your model and router. You can do this by unplugging them for a couple of minutes and them plugging them back in. Plug in the modem first and wait a few minutes, then plug in your router and wait a few minutes, then try getting on-line. If this is a persistent issue even after doing all of this and contacting your ISP, then I would conclude that your hardware (modem, router, &\or ethernet cables) is giving out on you.

How come every time i download limewire in try to run it always say no connection.but when i ask other people they tell me to check my firewall but when i do lime wire be on the list so what should i do to...

There is many potential firewalls in the typical home that may prevent LimeWire from accessing the service.

The computer with LimeWire is the first place to check. If using Windows, there is a built in firewall with access rules. If you have a Internet Security Suite such as Norton 360, then it will need to be configured to allow access. Next is the router or firewall if you use one. The manufactured of the device will have documents on their website that explain how to configure the device for port forwarding. If this is the case make sure the ports associated with LimeWire are forwarded correctly.

After that may be the modem itself as many modems such as ones used for DSL are multipurpose devices and make use of a built in firewall & modem. Search your internet service provider for files related to access and configuration of your modem.

If all this is setup and it still does not work, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may have blocked the ports specific to LimeWire and many other peer to peer file sharing networks (P2P) such as Bit Torrent. If the traffic is blocked by the ISP there is little that can be done.

Limewire wont connect

What firewalls you have, Look for yours here for instructions on how to configure it to allow both LW & Java full access:

Update your Java:

Delete the LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!) & found here: Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire OR for Windows 98 / ME: "C:\My Documents"

But keep keep in mind once you delete your LW Preferences folder you will need to reset all your LW option settings so you might want to make a note of them 1st.
