Hello

Usually, side casing must be removed before pulling the front panel out.
If you don't notice any screws, there are only clips, but take care when prying it off as there are some wires that lead to the front panet at the power button, leds, etc.

Hope it helps

SOURCE: I cant get my Dell Precision 690 to recognise a hard drive

Double check the bois to ensure you have all the Sata ports turned on. I have found in some Dell computers the only ports turned on are the ones in use when shipped from the factory.

SOURCE: I have a broken Dell Precision 470 Workstation. The symptoms are as follows: Won't power up; Flashing yellow power LED on front panel; Blank STR_LED on motherboard; Yellow AUX_PWR LED on motherboa

Flashing front powerlight is often a result of a faulty powersupply, try another powersully on the pc and see if the problem gets solved. I've seen a few of these cases personally.

How to replace power switch

Michael M,
You can click the link below to download the online manual. The manual provides information for removing/replacing parts withing your computer. I am not sure if you can replace just the power switch. You may need to replace the whole front cover. You can then call the Dell Spare Parts Department at 1-877-717-3355 to order the part.

Dell 690 powers off randomly yet frequently

Hello,

This problem is common when hardware parts temperature raises over a certain point, and happens for safety reasons.

The temperature problems always come from insufficient cooling, stuck coolers, dust or missing thermal paste on hardware pieces.

You can try opening the case and cleaning the pc using a vaccum cleaner.

Hope it helps.
