Question about Canon i860 InkJet Photo Printer
The Canon i860 has 4 small cartiridges, 3 color and 1 black. It also has a large black. Our i860 never uses the large black one. Is ours broken or is the large black for a special purpose?
The little cartridges are pigment for photo printing. The Large black cart is ink for plain paper (usually text) printing. If you select a photo paper in the print setup menu, you will use very little of the ink.
To check the function of the large cart print out a test sheet from the printer maintenance menu. You may need to run a head cleaning to get all the nozzles to work.
