You need to replace the blu-ray laser. You can order a replacement laser from the internet / ebay and check out some videos on youtube for the install. It's not hard. Average cost including parts / tools / etc should be under $100. OR you could send it into Sony for repair which will run $150+
You can reach Sony @ 1-800-345-Sony
OR you can check Craigslist if you're in a major city for someone to repair.
Your biggest concern should be the quality of the laser you buy. They ONLY last 1-3 years with average use so getting a new or quality replacement laser is key to avoiding the problem again the future.
ALSO you could try updating the firmware to 2.70, if you haven't already. I've seen this solution work on a few RARE occasions. It's free and easy so you might as well try.
And finally BEFORE replacing the laser you could open the PS3 and clean the laser with a q-tip. There tons of videos on youtube showing you the procedure. Just make sure you don't use anything but a DRY q-tip, no matter what the anyone says.
If you have any more questions hit me up. I'm a PS3 EXPERT.
