Question about Lexmark X1240 All-In-One InkJet Printer
It was working perfectly the other day. Now it won't turn on!!
I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting. I've uninstalled and I have the disk to reinstall, however, it won't reinstall because it doesn't recognize the printer (because it won't turn on). I have no clue! HELP!!!
The adaptor on this printer is horrible. I own one and i have the same problem. i used a voltage meter and it didnt read. you cant service them, so you'll have to buy a new one

It could be a bad power adapter or even internal power supply.
The only way to test is to use another power adapter from a similar printer and see if it will work.
Test if there is power from that specific wall socket.
It will have to go to an authorised lexmark support center or printer repair shop ,ask for a quote.
Printers are cheap these days and replacing the part usually cost more than buying a new one.

Please make sure that the printer is actually VISTA compatible (it should say it on the box) If it is compatible then there is a good chance that the drivers need to be updated. (even if you just bought it) Your first option would be to download the driver directly from Lexmark.com (forget the CD that came with it) Your other option is to download the drivers for LEXMARK X1250 (I have tried this many times with other printers and they worked just fine) I have also used these two web sites to download the drivers for other printers and it seems to work ok so far. Here are the links to the X1250 http://driverzone.com/device.php?id=81664 http://www.siliconguide.com/drivers/device/112/ ...Best of luck to you, I hope I was able to help.

your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the
If that doesn't help, try the steps below:
1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.
2. Re-brick your printer.
Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the
back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers
3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
4. Reboot your pc.
5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.
6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB
connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a
new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to
verify that the problem is fixed.
You may also try to update your printer driver by
visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/lgJCxt. Select your operating system, download and
execute the file.
Try to scan again to verify that the problem is fixed.
If the problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional assistance.
