Question about GE Spacemaker JVM1640SJ Microwave Oven

1 Answer

Intermittent fan operation

I've got a GE Spacemaker JVM1750 Microwave Oven that is barely over a year old and has barely been used. It is having intermittent fan problems. Sometimes I turn the fan on and it works. For the most part it doesn't come on at all. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the reply. No, this thing has hardly ever been used, so nothing has needed to be changed. Clean as new. I checked the exhaust flap and it is opening just fine.

Have you ever had to replace the cook top lights?

Are the filters clean? (grease filters and charcoal filter if equipped)

Has there been a change or problem with the venting duct work or exhaust flap outside (if so equipped)?

Most often this is accompanied by or occurring after trouble with the cook top lights, but I'd say it's a problem with the control board just the same.

We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so with a one-year guarantee.

At our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number with suffix) for more information & help.

I have a new JVM1750 just installed yesterday. There was some arcing, in what looked like underneath, a white circular disc in the ceiling of the internal cavity. Have checked for foil - none inside the...

That is your stirrer cover.

Any arcing there is usually due to grease or food particles, so on a new oven that would be as mystery.

But any time you get arcing under it, it has to be removed and cleaned.

Hello :

If there is any resetting button , then press it to reset your Microwave oven . If that didn't solve the problem , then I recommend you to replace it if that's possible or just take it to the service since you still have to guarantee .

The microwave oven does not have power to the panel.

HI, this will require the skilled hands of a qualified GE tech. the damaged part here is the Magnetron assembly. this is a very sensitive part that creates radiation and the heating process as well. you will need to replace this device asap if possible.

F3 means shorted key panel. You get prompted with F3 error if a short on key panel is detected for over 60 seconds.
