i would not take a short cut like that you are better off replacing the switch with a factory part.If you bypass you may run into problems down the road. When the washer goes into a spin and you have a child you could run into a bad situation. also could lead into shorting problems for there is always going to be water splashig around the lid switch

YOUR LID SWITCH IS BAD,REMOVE THE 2 HEAD SCREWS,ONE ON EACH SIDE,YOU MIGHT HAVE TO POP THE PLASTIC END CAPS OFF AS THE SCREWS ARE BEHIND THEM,FLIP THE HEAD UP,UNPLUG THE LID SWITCH JACK ON THE MIDDLE TOP BACK OF WASHER,CLIP THE 2 OUTSIDE WIRES AND WIRE NUT THEM TOGETHER,PLUG BACK IN,YOU HAVE NOW BYPASSES THE LID SWITCH,PUT BACK TOGETHER,WE DO THIS IN THE TRADE ALL THE TIME-MIKE

bypass it if you don't have small kids you think might put there hands in it during spin cycle, the only thing the lid switch does is stop the washer from draining or spinning when you open the lid,if you don't have small kids you can bypass it and it's free and the washer will work fine for years,we do it all the time and it don't cost anything to do-mike

WASHER WILL NOT RINSE:
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle, the most likely cause is the water valve. What happens is the water valve will stop letting cold water into the washer; therefore, once the washer gets to rinse it will either stop or not do anything during the whole rinse cycle.
This is because when you selected your water temperature, you selected warm/cold or hot/cold. The hot water came in and you didn't notice any problems. When it got to rinse, the cold water the cold water won't come in. Therefore, the washer does nothing.
To check the water valve, first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed.
If you still don't have good water pressure, the problem is in your house plumbing and you need to call a plumber. If you had good water pressure the first time you performed the test, the water valve is bad and needs replacing.
TIMER
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle the timer may be the problem. Sometimes the timer gets stuck in the middle of the cycle or won't turn at all. If the washer runs, but the timer doesn't turn, the timer is bad and needs replacing.
Do you have anti-flood hoses leading to the machine. If you do there is probably a loose tube in the back causing a small leak. When the hoses detect that water is still flowing after a certain amount of time due to the leak it shuts down and causes the machine to turn off during the rinse/spin cycle

Beko WMP652W washing machine will start cycle but get stuck at end of wash, doesnt go onto rinse or spin any help please?

see the next steps and use the common sense: God bless you
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

This is for a Whirlpool washer and dryer thin stack. All four of the wash cycles work AND all four of the spin cycles work, but the rinse cycles do not work. I have to manually skip it forward past the...

Hello,

I would suspect the water inlet valve as being the problem,if it drains the water and spins the lid switch is going to be good. The thing exclusive to rinse cycles is that they only fill with cold water, and that is what i suspect the problem being is that it's not filling with cold water on the rinse cycle because of a bad water inlet valve.

Washer does not complete its cycle on any wash cycle. Error Code F 02 shows up before rinse and spin is complete. Clothes are soaking wet. What is the problem?

check the drain hose for any blockages or kinks and check to make sure water passes through it freely. it may be that it's just not emtying quick enough and therefore clothes remain wet. in a worse case scenario the pump itself could be faulty :(
