Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Audio files will not play on Palm TX

My Palm TX all of a sudden gives me a "unable to play audio file. Either the current audio file was deleted or you have removed the expansion card where it was stored. Reinsert card or select another file." To my knowledge I didn't delete any file and when the card is inserted it shows a number of song tracts that are loaded on the card. I don't use this feature to often and haven't loaded or changed any files on the card. Should I try and reload more files? Any ideas? Thanks for your help. Bob

Your Palm is having a hard time identifying the file. Have you installed a different mp3 player? If not.1. Save the files on your PC in a specific folder. 2. Remove the files from the card. 3. readd them.

Can't pull up information from SD Card to my Palm TX

Was the card formatted? The TX doesn't come with a built-in file viewing or file management application for SD cards. Depending on the type of files, you should be able to view those files (or lists of them) with the application that is appropriate to those files...i.e. Documents with Documents To Go, music with PocketTunes, etc. Also, some applications will look for files in particular folders. Music files should be in the /audio folder, for example. When you format the card in the Palm using the Card Info application, it creates these folders automatically. But, you want to be able to view the files with something like a Windows Explorer app, right? The free answer is something called FileZ. Google the name and you'll find it...maybe at www.freewarepalm.com or other sites. It does the job and it's free. But for something that's really the cat's meow in Palm file viewers, check out Resco Explorer. It does much more, including a .zip application, and other things. But it's not free. Check it out at www.resco.net or www.handango.com.

Is there anyway to delete programs from a Palm TX.i want delete some applications from my palm.

In home mode tap on time at top right. new menu will appear with apps/options. under apps menu will be several options. tap delete to bring up list of apps on palm and then find file to delete and tap on it and hit delete at bottom then done. that's it!

Using the desktop, is there anyway to move(either to the memory card or the PC) or delete files on a Palm TX. I apparently used to much of the devices memory and now I can't ge to the home screen(it...

If you're able to hotsync, then yes. In the desktop, delete notes or other items (Does the TX have voice memos? Those would be a quick way to free up a lot of space!)
Perform a hotsync, and your Palm should then have some free memory.

If you're not able to hotsync, then nothing you do in the Desktop will have any effect on the Palm.

But, I'm skeptical that this is the real problem. It sounds more like memory corruption, and a hard reset is going to be the real fix.

Is there anyway to delete files from a Palm TX using the desktop?

Unless I'm not understanding your question, any entries that you delete from either the desktop or PDA will delete from the other device when you sync your PDA.

So, if you delete an item from your Palm desktop, the next time you sync your PDA to your desktop, the entry will be deleted from your PDA as well.

But, if you haven't backed up / synced your PDA to your desktop yet, install and run Hotsync Manager - do that first. And, perform that procedure often so that your info on your PDA will be safe on your desktop.

Hope this helps.

Cannot delete photos - access is denied

Turn off the device then turn it back on. that should solve the problem. normally this is because a program on the Palm is still associated with that picture. turning it off and on severs that association.

I hope this has answered your question sufficiently. If you have more questions please post a reply and i would be happy to assist. Thanks.

Onscreen status bar

Check the files on the Palm. If you see these two files (or either of them)
AppSlipRotate.prc and StatusBarLib.prc
delete the files and do another Hotsync.

They shouldn't be there - they were needed for the T3, so going from a Zire to a TX shouldn't bring them in - but possibly they were on the Palm already or something.

Converting from Palm Pilot TX to iTunes

There is probably a compatibility issue between the TX, Pocket Copy, and Iphone. TX is pretty picky about what can be used to transfter information. They only recommend Outlook and the one that is included on the TX CD.

TX and IPhones are different systems as well. You could try to get the files exported from the TX into a CSV and see if you can import the files into Iphone that way, if it will import them.

Good luck on that one.

File locked

You will probably have to erase the memory to the TX and reload the software to fix it.

To erase the TX memory, press the reset button. At the boot screen hold down the power button. Confirm deletion. Reload software from CD.
