Question about Refrigerators
Hotpoint ML795727 makes a terrific noise when defrosting cycle starts. Sometimes I can make it stop by slamming the freezer door.
Check the back of the fridge, sounds like pipes are rubbing underneath, if you feel you are competent then follow the next steps, 1. Turn the fridge off and unplug it. 2. get to the back of the fridge with a good light or torch and inspect the pipe work, 3. make sure nothing is touching itself and be careful not to touch the black oval shape object as it may be hot (normal). if everything looks ok plug the fridge in and see if you can still hear it ,if the noise is anything other than pipe work , depending on the model you have , it could be either a fan bearing of the compressor is on its way out.
