All the internet is part of your manual; you can also read what is installed on your filesystem at

/usr/man/*
/usr/share/man/*
/usr/doc/*

depending on where your your distribution of linux installed those files.

Visit http://tldp.org;
http://google.com/linux

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to turn the Radio Frequency Kill Switch off when running Linux

Hi Antti,

From one LINUX OS user to another, welcome.

Have you checked that the software you are using is that for the card, if it isn't, that will be the culprit.

If it is the correct software, then it may be and obsolete version, anyway, with LINUX OS, you do not need the software, LINUX will automagically detect your card and install the apropriate drivers for it to work. I have never had to manually install software for anything to access the internet, that's because LINUX OS is designed to do that awfull task for you, all you need to do is plug & play, LINUX by design, is a fully fledged Plug & Play OS.

If for some reason it isn't able to run your card, this is basically due to it being so out of date, that it is no longer supported, even by INTEL.

I don't know which flavour of LINUX you're running, but I've been running 5 on my day to day machine, and not a single problem have I encounted since 1997, when I started using LINUX.

So, throw away your software driver discs when using LINUX, the're not required at all.

I hope that has resolved your query and keep on using the worlds best OS.... LINUX4EVER!!!

Cheers,
Peter

The best way to recover Data from your hard drives is to boot up the system
in Linux. Get your friend's help to google, download and create a Boot CD for
DSL (Damn Small Linux), Puppy Linux or Ubuntu Linux. Get into your system
BIOS and change the Boot Priority to the CD drive. Boot up in Linux, and recover
/and or delete data if needed.

NIC Connection question, Manual in XP, Automatic in Linux

Its depend on your LAN Card Configuration, something it obtain or directly detect your internet connection but sometimes its not. That is why to make sure that you can connect you manually put IP Address on it. Uncheck the limited or no connectivity on the Lan Setting to make that when you are using Obtain IP Address then it shows and detect your Router or Hub with internet provider.

How to share drives between linux and xp installed on a same computer

More info will be needed, but linux can access NTFS with read and write, nowadays.

Which linux flavor are you using?

If you are in linux you should be able to access the XP part of the harddrive. In ubuntu you would goto places, then home folder, on the left there are quick links, one should be File System. Many folders are listed once File System in choosen and you should look for the Host folder. That would be the root of the HD for the NTFS "XP" drive - You will see program files and the windows folder, etc...

This maybe different if you are not using Ubuntu, but I can help with manually mounting the drive if need be. Linux is great! =]]

Need an updated Linux driver for WF748-UIc

http://zd1211.ath.cx/wiki As per that website, the drivers are now included in the Kernel since 2.6.18. If you're manually compiling your kernel, you can find the module in the menuconfig of the linux kernel source (ie in the `make menuconfig` menu) in: Device Drives -> Network device Support -> Wireless LAN (non-hamradio) -> Wireless Lan Drivers -> USB ZD1201 based Wireless device support
