If drum turns but does not heat, look for:

1. A safety device at the elements that has tripped or malfunctioned.

2. Time has malfunctioned and needs replaced.

3. Exhaust system is clogged or restricted causing a safety to activate and stop the heating process

4. Element has burnt out. Wire to the element has come loose or burnt off due to loose connection.

5. Improper voltage to unit. Reset breaker and verify that proper voltage is to the unit. (Usually somewhere between 208 to 240 volts depending on where you are at an the manufacturer of the unit.)

Check these things out. Please keep in mind that a new unit may be cheaper than a repair. I encourage you to do your homework on this. I have gotten dependable units as low as $200 for places like Lowes. They also come with warrenties!

Let me know how you come out and Good luck to you. I truly hope this helps.

Hi, Unplug the dryer and remove the rear panel (on most models). Then take a continuity test on the element as well as the thermostats and the thero fuse. If any of these parts have no continuity, they are bad and will need replaced.
I hope this is helpful. If I can help further, please let me know.

Thanks
Vic

My dryer wont heat

Not sure of my brand, but when my dryer would continue to run without heating, I replaced one small fuse in the back using Google to find the right part (What Causes Gas Dryer to Stop Heating) and a youtube video to walk me through the process. Instead of a $75 maintenance visit or purchasing a new dryer, I solved the problem for $2.50.
This video worked for me, but you could search for other brands.

My dryer wont heat up or shut down

It's not heating up because the heating element is broken and should be replaced. It won't shut down because the thermostat isn't sensing heat and continues to run while expecting heat. So replacing the heating element should get it running properly.

My dryer wont heat up...It runs but will not get hot.

check all the thermal breaker at the back. If they are good then the dryer heating element may have opened.

Dryer will not heat but turns on and spins but no heat.

check breaker first it will run with the breaker tripped but it wont heat so turn off and on then check dryer for heat.dryers have a thermal fuse when they go bad it wont heat they are located on the element cage and are smaller than the thermostats.and if that is good then most likely element.but it usually helps to know what brand?

Dryer still wont heat

you could remove and bench test the theromostat. my kenmore would not complete the circut to heat at all with a faulty thermostat. Just use a jumper wire to bypass it and test it THERE WILL BE NO SHUT OFF COULD HEAT UP TOO MUCH IF LEFT RUNNING.
