Did you use the camera to format the card before you shot any pictures. If not, the camera can't use the card and used its own memory to store the photos. Use the camera to format the card, then the camera can continue to shoot more photos and store them on the card. When you download them to the computer, remember to get the one from the camera too.

Format a new sd memory card ?

Memory cards need to be formatted before use. Please refer to your camera manual for instructions.

Your camera may not work with 8GB SDHC cards, only with SD cards 2GB or smaller. Such cameras will report a card error and/or request formatting if you try to use an SDHC card.

If you require further assistance, please add a comment to this question and specify the model of your Kodak EasyShare camera.

Kodak camera won't format sd card

Your older camera can only use 2GB or less standard SD card. It can not be used with the new 4GB or higher SDHC cards. Fortunately, 2GB cards are relatively inexpensive these days, and may be found on Amazon if your local store no longer carries them.

Difficulty formatting new memory card for a Kodak Easy Share DX7440

The DX7440 works with MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB. While your 4GB SDHC card fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work with this camera. You need to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Kodak EasyShare CD33 Digital Camera i got a sd 2gb from wallgreens with a photo adapter wheen i try to format it i get fillsys erorr e00100. how can i fix it

Sounds like the 2Gb SD card is too large in capacity for the camera. There is a difference between SD cards and SDHC (high capacity) cards, if it is one of those. They are not backward compatible.

I have recently purchased a DMC-G1K camera. I have read the operating instruction manuel and cannot understand how to format an SD card. (page 34 in the operating instruction manuel. Where is this...

Just incase, i wanted to point out this camera may not support SDHC cards. what this means is you cannot use any SD card over 2GB in size unless there is an "SDHC" logo on the camera. "says the manual" And one other real quick thing to check is the lock/unlock switch on the SD card make sure it's in the unlock position On page 24 there is a little more info on formating the card.if the card is currently formated in NTSC the camera wont be able to read it correctly From your PC if the card is less than 2GB you want to format it in fat12 or fat16 but if it is any size larger than 2GB you have to use fat32. on your PC open "my computer" then plug the card into the PC via Card reader or directly plugged into the camera and you will see a new drive pop up in your "my computer" window. Right click on it and select "format" and it will bring up a window that allows you to change formatting options. usually the correct options are already selected for the card size so just click the "format" button it will prompt you that everything will be deleted. once formated put it in the camera and go to the Format option again and select it. you will be prompted again that everything will be deleted select "continue format" it should take less than 10 seconds depending on the size of the card I think the reason they dont elaborate on the formating of the card is because when you click on "format" in the settings menu there isnt much that happens after that other than the prompt about everything being deleted Good luck hope i helped

How can you format a SD 4gb card for the Kodak EasyShare Z612 Digi Camera

You can't. The Z612 uses SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card and is incompatible with SD devices.

For SD cards (2GB and smaller), you'll find the Format operation in the Setup menu. Press the Menu button, then use up/down to select the wrench, then press OK.

It says the memory card needs formatting but when i go to format it this error occurs, FILESYS ERROR e00100

The Kodak Z612 only accepts standard SD cards up to 2GB. As you rightly point ot the physical charactreristics are identical, its the internal format of the card that defines SDHC.

Standard SD cards use FAT - which has a 2GB limit.
SDHC cards use FAT32 - which has a limit of 32GB.

Stick with 2GB or smaller standard SD cards.
