Question about Washing Machines

3 Answers

I have Whirlpool WFC7500VW. I've just started to use it. During the last fast spin cycle there is a lot of vibration. There's no problem except I live in a condo and I worry that the vibration will cause a disturbance to the people below me. Is there a problem that when it goes into the fast spin that I stop it, after about 30 seconds, with the "cancel/drain" button? Will it hurt the operation of the washer if I always do that? regards, maria

    Would like a Whirlpool expert.

I wash about 3 to 4 small loads a week, is all.

It is just the vibration that is so powerful. The washer is level; it was just checked. We checked everything before starting the washer again. The washer spin goes to 1200rpm's which seems to be too much for my condo building. The floor, counter ... everything vibrates. Not violently, just steady. I'm sure it's working fine. I just want an answer to the question below.

Will always using the "cancel/drain" button do any damage.

    Hi,

This was a test run. There were only two hand towels in the washer and I did a rinse/spin to test the washer out. My son-in-law was there to make sure the washer was level and that the bolts on the legs were snug agains the bottom of the washer.

Thank you for the answer as I just think that the spin is very powerful. If I had known I probably would have gotten a front load with a slower spin - like 800rpm's that I've been.

    Thank you for your answer.

    regards,

    maria

Using the cancel button will not cause any damage to the washer, but are you sire the washer is leveled properly? there are feet on the bottom of waher that adjust to level the washer, also don't over load, that can cause allot of spin vibration.

Hi Maria,
if u stop your washin machine in midway, eachtime due to vibration it may cause damage to your machine, most noises or vibration from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
Balance the load of clothes when you put it in. If it's thumping during the spin cycle, stop it, open it up, move some clothes from the fuller side to the less full side, and see if that helps.
Replace the springs inside the machine which suspend the washing drum (open it up, take a look, it won't bite). Perhaps they're all saggy and this is permitting excessive vibration.
Put something under the machine to stop it from transmitting the vibrations to the floor of the house. A old sock folded several times and placed under each of the four feet may help. Rubber or foam (piece of an old yoga mat?) will also work.
Also, make certain the machine is level from front to back and side to side.

I billieve this will solve your problem, try doin this, u will b helpfull.however if u r satisfied with this answer plzz don forget to rate this answer.
All the best
thankyou.

My whirlpool duet washer hammers very loud when it spins. The outside of the machine doesn't seem to vibrate much but it is very loud.

That is a common occurrence with dryers such as this one. Even though it sounds bad, it is harmless. If it really bothers, you can re-balance the load and it should reduce the vibration.

This is a common problem with the Whirlpool front load machine. The motor control board goes out but the new ones have been redesigned. You will need to replace the control board. Here is a link to the control board you need.

The machine goes crazy when it's on the extended spin (fast spin). If I set it to "gentle spin, would it disengage the fast spin? Whirlpool didn't know the answer!

Even with a good level machine these are very heavy units containing 3 concrete weights. The floor is a direct contributor to vibration and yes it;s worse on the Ex spin with a higher spin speed. If it's on a wood floor even in a new home that can cause this issue. One way to make sure the machine is ok is to put it on a concrete floor, level it and hit the high speed spin with a wet load. Not a easy thing to do but one way to confirm it.

Even a normal spin is enough spin speed to extract enough water. Stick with that!

Washer drum shakes excessively during fast spin

y shaped piece that contains the spindle that attatches to the basket and allows it to spin is corroded and cracking. you can't buy just the spindle bracket, you must buy the basket too. you'll be buying the front part of the drum too, if you wait to long.
