Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer

Kenmore top load washer will not fill on rinse cycle

OK, so no issues filling and going through the wash cycle, but the strangest thing happens after the wash cycle is over. The washer does not fill for the rinse, instead it starts to agitate as if it the drum was already full. I have been able to stop the cycle then turn the water level dial all the way to the right and the water then starts to fill into the drum, but this is the only way the drum will fill on the rinse cycle. Is this a vaccuum issue with the water level dial? Please help if you can - Thanks --

    Thanks Vic.

You know I did have an issue a few weeks back. On the initial wash cycle, the tub would not fill all the way and I had to turn the dial all the way past the max level setting to get it to fill. Does this now sound more like it is the switch? I will remove the instrument panel tonight and take a look at it. For some reason I thought it was a vacuum action through the hose that regulated the water level. Are the switches hard to replace and would the part number be on the switch itself?

Thanks again for all of your help - Rod

Hi, It does sound like the contacts in the water level switch are sticking. This switch is activated by presure not vaccum. You can try and bow into the hose leading to the level switch and see if it has any restriction but, it is more likely the level switch is going bad.
Do you have any problem on the initial starting of you wash cycle?
Let me know if this helps at all or I can answer any more questions.

Thanks
Vic

Yes they are easy to replace once you get the cntrol panel up. The part should be on the swith but, if you need the number or part, I can look it up and end you one. Just make sure the hose to the sitch is not restricted. They sometimes get little soap or lint in them.

Hello Kimberley,
It appears that a part of your question is cut off so i may be off base here but what i am reading is that your washer will go through the wash cycle and drain the wash water then just quit?? is that what is happeningIf yes that is whats going on i think what is happening is that after the wash cycle it fills with only COLD WATER for the rinse cycle and its not filling with the rinse water and just sits their until the rinse cycle water is filled and if its not getting cold water into the washer its not going to do anything If it is filling with cold water my apologies my bad for misinterpreting what the question reads and i ask ya to re-ask it.

Kenmore 90 plus won't fill on regular orpermanent press cycle.

OK, Duh..... I guess there is about a 2 to 3 min. delay for the liquid soap dispenser to fill up and disperse the soap into the washer tub. After that short cycle is complete the fill cycle engages and fills at normal speed.

The first thing seems to be the timer,or the water level switch. Try filling the washer with water by hand, if it starts to agitate after being filled its the timer, if not it is the water level switch, let me know if you need further assistance.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Shutting down on rinse cycle

Hi this could means that you may need to replace the washing machine bearings. Once the bearings are bad, the motor overheats and it will automatically shut down after the first rinse.
