Question about HP Pavilion dv5000t Notebook
I have an HP zv5000 and it started up with a message that says,
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."
So I did that with my original Setup disc, it started to load stuff on a blue screen and then the message at the bottom said that it was starting windows, but it gave me a black screen with about a dozen choices of what to do next.
I don't know which one to choose. The other alternative was to press 'enter' and partition the drive. I don't know whether to do the partitioning or not.
Is there a choice in the list that I can choose?
I mean your documents are very important so do not install xp setup before the data backup, you can use a USB adapter connect to a normall PC to do so. and then tell you how do install xp CD.
1) load files -->press F8 -->confirm install new xp --> detect a disk
--> choose c: disk (this step you can change disk pertition)-->format disk c: --> copy files keep in touch ....to finish.
hope it help you to deal well
