I've experienced a disc working in one thing, but not in another.. You might burn yourself a fresh copy of the disc. There's a good chance that the new copy will work fine in everything, again..

Some players are like that! You need to experiment with different makes and speed settings when recording!

Either the unit's motor is bad or the mechanical parts are dirty not allowing the unit to change CD's or load them.

Nakamichi CD400 stopped playing CD-R's

you may check the lens it may be damaged so it may read some cd's and the others not , also the problem may be from the burned ones the software that burns it may have some configurations that make the cd readable in some places and in other places not

KD-HDR40 will not play any CDs, only displays a "CD reading" message.

Sounds like CD mechanism failure. Did some sticker or anything went inside? Any way, need service.

CD's won't play. The counter stays at "00" & the LED light above the play buuton stays off.

I never have trouble playing CDs on a similar Crosley system, but you might want to first try playing a disc that you purchased at a store. It may be possible that your system cannot play some formats of burned discs.

Why does Burn't Audio CD not play on some CD Players

because the codec's are different, if you have ever burned a avi file and it didnt play till you added say divx ir xivd to get it to play tech leaves out alot of the codec's so there system will work on most but not all cd's dvd's the only way around it is to find out which codec will work for that player to test what I have just told you take the cd to the store and try it on a different mechine and see if it works

CD player won't play MP3 CD's?

I have had similar problems in the past - on one computer discs burned using nero were unreliable but using Windows Media Player they were fine and on other computers the Windows programme was useless and produced unreliable inconsistent results.

I suggest you experiment with different burning software and maybe suspect the drive you are using might be past it's best.
I have several cd players in my vehicles and around my home. Only a couple of them will play all the discs and most of them are very choosy and will only read premium price shop bought discs and it is a waste of time trying to play a discount store or freebie disc, or many of my computer burned discs.

I don't know what the differences are - maybe it is the software or the power of the laser burning the disc or the sensitivity of the reading laser, but there are many differences in there somewhere. The situation is very frustrating...

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I couldn't solve the problem with these solutions. I tried a DVD, I tried 3 CD's burned from 2 different computers, I waited for 5 minutes, I waited for 5 hours. Nothing worked. So I used my work computer that is running XP and it worked perfectly. So if you are burning the disk from a vista computer I don't think it will work.

I had the same problem i just decided to pull the whole thing out and get a new radio and single disc cd changer put in and so far it works fine.
