Hi, it appears that CDW/DVDROM is only detected in BIOS but in normal windows. This is a known issue from Microsoft eventhough you are using Windows Xp or Vista the CDW/DVDROM is not detected and does not appear in My computer icon. This can be easily fixed by a registry tweaks.
The error code shows that the "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (code 39)"
Please click on this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461/en-us and then delete the upper/lowerfilters which is blocking the CDW/DVDROM to appear on your windows. Make sure that you don't delete the upper/lowerfilters.bak files.
Hope this helps!!!
Thanks
