Apple ipod wont play

Are you using the charger that came with the ipod? Some aftermarket chargers don't treat apple products nicely. I would take it back where you bought it and check it out with them.

I'm going to assume that by "formatted" you mean that your erased it in the windows/mac disk utility or explorer rather than in iTunes. In this case all you should have to do is plug it in to a computer with iTunes installed and click the option in itunes that says that it will restore the ipod to factory settings. This will reformat your ipod properly.

Try to restore your iPod with connecting it to your pc or mac and open iTunes. When you are in iTunes you could try to restore the iPod in the menu of iTunes where it sees your connected iPod.
You've to be sure to backup all the important data to your pc or mac.

You can always reset your iPod by pressing the home button (middle round button) and the play button. This will soft reset the device.

My brother did the same thing on his.

Hold in both the center button and the play button for a few seconds until a white apple appears.

This will not reset your music.

When it reappears you should be good to go.

You probably already have the answer to this, but if you send it to Apple, they may just give you a new iPod. If they even think that it got wet, though, they won't fix it. You will have to replace the battery. There are a number of places that will do that for you. I hopw that helps.

Try restoring the ipod, this will erase all music from your ipod so make sure its backed up. it erases all of your ipods software and reinstalls it this will almost definitly fix your problem. if it doesnt, than the problem may be mechanical
