Question about Refrigerators
I have acquired a small rv trailer with a fridge that we know absolutely nothing about. I have never heard of this brand of rv fridge before. It does not work on electricity as far as I can tell. It has two large D size batteries in it and I am not sure what they are for. It is connected to propane and I believe that it will run off the main battery as well. We would like to know how to go about lighting it. We know that it has to be as level as possible before we light it and we have done that part. As I said, we do not know anything about lighting a RV propane fridge. Can you tell us how to do it? Also we would like to find a manual for it. Can you help us with this as well? Thank you so much.
The Guest Post of May '09 is very accurate. I have a problem with the glow igniter associated with the black button. I need a new igniter and wonder if anyone knows where I can get parts. My model is a 7307 Morphy Richards Astral Frig.

I have a few parts (new) for an Astra model 'Morph' - including battery cover, gas valve (red button on front of your unit), battery holders, thermostat valve with probe as well as a used battery holder (in good shape - no issues with contact points). I also have a Piezo starter that is new and could be modified to use as a spark source.

Just got one of these to replace the 1938 servel (still working) and it comes with how to ligh instructions insid ethe front cover.turn electric/low voltage off. install 2 d cells in series, open propane valve, turn gas to on, turn temp. setting to coldest, push red and black buttons in(right side of control panel) watch in the lower right hand corner of the fridge compartment at the little clear looking plug. will glow red until propane ignites, then you will notice a blue flame. mine took about 30 seconds to start and i held it on for a bit longer to make sure it stayed lit. doesnt have much of a flame but gets cold in about an hour.
