Sounds like you may have the wrong part, figure you have RED, BLUE & GREEN lights those wires will go to each colored light? Sounds correct? You obviously don't have the Brown which may be a contrast or Dark tint, I've never seen a Brown light before and I've ripped apart a number of old Rear projection TV's. What Kind of TV is it? I know My parents had a Sony that was lacking a contrast control setting but it was a super high dollar set and may have had a fourth lens in it. Pioneer may be another that might have a fourth lens. I've torn apart Magnivox, RCA & Zenith sets and all were the same exact set up. Try it without using the Brown and see what happens, That's my suggestion. I doubt it will hurt anything by not connecting them. Since I don't know the make model or the year it's hard to say if it's even worth messing with it anymore. the cost of HD LED TV's is so cheap now there's really no sense on repairing any older projection TV's. Or for that matter even repairing newer ones is more costly than buying a brand new one.
The blue LCD panel in the light engine is going bad. The only fix is to replace the light engine. This is an extremely expensive repair. However, Sony has extended the warranty on the light engine only on many of these models. Find a local Sony authorized service center and give them your model and serial number to see if yours qualifies for the warranty.
The light engine in your set has gone belly up. It is a very expensive repair. Good news is that on a whole bunch of models like yours Sony has extended the waranty on the light engine. Check with a local authorized Sony service center and give them the model & serial number and you might get a free ride. If I were a betting man I'd take odds on 'you're in luck'. LOL
how to fix my problem Blue haze/cloud in center of screen, slowly spreading .but last time my lamp broken I order by my self and fixed now I have the blue color in my screen please let me know what is the problem may be I need to replaced same parts please let me know how to fix thank you
Hello rivas_gab.Before I answeryour question let me explain a little how your tv works. You TV uses is a 3LCDtv that gets its picture from a lamp, the lamp produces a white light brighterthan the sun, the light goes through a square prism and is split 3 ways, eachgoing through a small LCD chip (blue, red & green). Then it travels troughthe light engine where the final picture is produced. The blue blobthat appears on the screen might be caused by one or two lcd chips that havestarted to get burn by the intense heat emitted from the light of the lamp. If that is theproblem you’ll have to replace the entire light engine, the other option isthat you buy the prism with the lcd chips, how ever that almost impossible becausenobody that I know sells them separately. If you decide tobuy, search buy part number, NOT model number, otherwise you’ll run the risk ofgetting non compatible parts. If you’re lookinga place to purchase look for dedicated tv part distributors (my personal recommendation:Discount-Merchant ). Happyhunting.
If you go to this link they have any Picture tube you need for your model and they include instructions on how to remove the old Tube and install the new one. Your model has picture tubes instead of lamps. Leave them an email with your model number and which CRT (picture Tube) youre needing they respond quickly. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
It's most likely the light engine. Sony has a service bulletin on these right now for one of the causes of this. Both causes result in the replacement of the light engine but they are only covering one type.
