Problem with windows xp

When i double click local drives in my computer. a dialog box is appearing saying that 'the application is not in win32 mode'.

Sometimes it happens in windows XP that you are not able to open drives on your hard disk. When you double click on the drives icons or right click on the drive>>explore in My computer ,the drive does not open.

This problem is generally caused by most of the viruses which infect windows XP system. They block or restrict your access to any of the drives.

But don’t worry this is not a big trouble it can be fixed easily.

Fix:

Normally when a virus infects a windows system which causes a drive opening problem, it automatically creates a file named autorun.inf in the root directory of each drive.

This autorun.inf file is a read only ,hidden and a system file and the folder option is also disabled by the virus. This is deliberately done by the virus in order to protect itself. autorun.inf initiates all the activities that the virus performs when you try to open any drive.



Very simple . virus create some bad registry if you want to solve this problem then delet this registry

Note:

It is possible that you are attempting to install a 64-bit version of Java when you have a 32-bit operating system. Check your operating and confirm this. In Vista you can find this using Start > Control Panel > System. This is similar if you have Windows 7. Here is what it looks like:

If after that you, you follow these instructions from Sun (Java) to locate and install the 32-bit version.

SYMPTOMS

While trying to install Java a user gets an error message similar to:
' ... x64.exe not a valid Win32 application'


CAUSE

The error message is a result of trying to install a 64-bit version of Java on a 32-bit operating system.
SOLUTION

User needs to install a 32-bit version of Java software, since a 64-bit version is not compatible with their 32-bit operating system.

Follow these steps to download 32-bit Java
  1. Go to Manual download
  2. Click Windows XP/Vista/2000/2003/2008 Online.
  3. The File Download dialog box appears.
  4. Choose the folder location.
  5. (Save the file to a known location on your computer, for example, to your desktop).
  6. Click Save.
  7. Close all applications including the browser.
  8. Double-click on the saved file icon to start the installation process.

Microsoft doesn't seem to have any information on XP having this error. But here's the general consensus after a little investigation:

1. Boot into safe mode by pressing the F8 key repetitively right after you turn on your PC until you see the safe mode screen.
2. Click Start >> Run. A Run window will appear.
3. Type "services.msc" in the Open field and then click OK. A "Services" window will open.
4. Find "Indexing Service" and double click on it. A "Indexing Service Properties" window will open.
5. Find the "Startup type" dropdown menu and select "Disabled", click "OK", and close the "Services" window.
6. Double click "My Computer" on your desktop. If it isn't there, then go to Start >> My Computer.
7. Find your hard drive, usually labeled "Local Disk (C:)", right-click on it and select "Properties". A dialog box will open.
8. Select the "Tools" tab.
9. In the upper third of the dialog box you'll see an area zoned "Error-checking". Click the button "Check Now". A new dialog box will open.
10. Check off the boxes "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors", then click "Start". You may be prompted to restart the computer. If this is the case, go ahead and restart.

Windows will check the hard drive for errors and run a surface scan. This may take a while depending on how big your hard drive is. Once it is finished, you'll arrive at your normal login screen. If Windows went ahead and ran the scan in safe mode without requiring a reboot then, once it is finished, go ahead and reboot the computer. Once at the login screen, go ahead and login. You shouldn't have the error any longer. If you do, be sure to report back here with details. The less details you provide, the less I can help.

Forgot username for admin acc in windows xp


Forgetting your Windows administrator login password. With no way to get into the system, you can’t even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up. Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who’s going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?) But all hope is not lost. There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we’ll show you the light.

1st Method:
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2th Method:
There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but we’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:

If you are running windows vista, try right clicking on the locker -select properties-select compatibility tab- check mark the run in mode box and run the application in windows xp service pack 2 compatibility mode or another mode listed. If this doesn't work then your drive might have become corrupted, either from static electricity from being plugged/unplugged with your computer on, or coming too close to a magnet etc... Always back up your data. Good luck.

Open my system, click mycomputer and then opening only c drive, but D,E,F drives are not opening, if telling application cannot be run in win32 mode ( how can i solve the problems.)
