Your Temperature Sensor is bad or has failed. This sensor monitors engine operating temperatures. The signals needed for the ECU to determine whether the engine is cold, warm or hot, then it will set the system to operate correctly for that temperature. Ex. When the engine is cold (first start up) it will supply the fuel system with more fuel for the air/fuel ratio for a richer mixture to start and maintain correct idle.

Possible coolant temperature sensor. It relays info to PCM which in turn regulates fuel needed for different engine temperatures. If sensor is faulty, it may be telling PCM that engine is already warm, when it's actually cold and needs a richer fuel mixture.
Doesn't want to turn over, or doesnt want to run even though it turns over? If it turns over but just wont "catch", then you most likely have a problem with your anti bleed back valve in you fuel injection system. The system isn't holding the proper fuel pressure for a warm start.
possible ignition module or fuel pump both have problem when they get hot or warm. try to smack the fuel tank with a hammer or equivalant. when it wont start if it runs then replace the fuel pump & fuel filter & fuel relay!

The car may be hard to start because it may need a normal tune-up. If the spark plugs are pretty used, they will slowly stop burning as much fuel because the spark slowly gets lesser and lesser. On a cold day the fuel is harder to ignite with a small amount of spark.
Normal idle when its cold means that your cars idle is probably too high. If you lower the idle, the choke on a cold day will keep the idle a little higher until the motor warms and then it will kick back off. If the idle is too high, it will run very rich, smothering itself with fuel, and causing the idle to stay low. When the car warms, its creating better spark when its warm, and with the idle being too high its running at a fast idle.
The car wont start sometimes can be the cause of a few things. If the ground is bad on the fuel pump, it wont make a good connection sometimes for when you turn the key on, the fuel pump dont pump the fuel to the engine. Another one can be that your accessory switch can be loose going to the fuel pump. I think its your ground though. Good luck! Hope this helps.

SCAN IT CHECK COOLANT SENSOR IT WILL CAUSES STARTING PROBLEMS IF ITS NOT WORKING.DOING COOL ENGINE START UP COOLING SENSOR MONITOR COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.IT WILL ENRICHEN FUEL MIXTURE JUST FOR COLD STARTING ENGINE.IT WORK LIKE SAME PRINCIPAL LIKE A CHOKE ON CARBURETER ENGINE.WHEN ENGINE WARMS UP THE COOLANT SENSOR AND OXYGEN SENSOR WILL LEAN OUT FUEL SYSTEM .WHICH IS CLOSED LOOP.CHOKE ON CARBURETER WILL OPEN AUTOMATICALLY AS THE THERMOSTATIC METAL COIL WARMS UP.YOU NEED A RICH FUEL MIXTURE WHEN COLD STARTING ENGINE.NOW A CLOGGED AIR FILTER BAD PLUGS + WIRES CAUSE WEAK SPARK NO START UP.SO I WOULD HAVE A GARAGE OR SOME BODY WITH A SCANNER SCAN IT TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.YOU WONT SPEND TOO MUCH MONEY GUESSING.
These engines require a LOT of amperage from the battery. A battery's amperage output is severely decreased in the cold weather. If your battery is old, it may not have the power to turn the engine over. Your solutions are (1) warm the engine to allow for easier turn-over and (2) put a charger on the battery to keep it warm in cold weather. The first can be accomplished by having your dealer install a soft-plug block heater. As to charging the battery, be sure the charger is one that monitors the battery's charge and turns itself off when the battery is fully charged. If this does not help, then your cold cranking may have caused your starter to begin to fail. Good Luck and stay warm!
