Toshiba 62"has no picure but has sound

I too am having the same problem on my 62" Toshiba. The red light stays steady, and the green light blinks 9 times then repeats.  I changed the blulb and it still dosen't work.  But, Every once in awhile I get lucky and turn the TV on and the picutre comes on. I called a repair guy who came out and told me that the light engine is bad and wants to charge me $600+ to repair........................is that my only solution?? Please help! This TV is only 3 years old. Bought it at Costco and the repair guy told me that he called Toshiba and they said they would not honor the warranty on any of the parts. Just don't want to get taken!! Thanks! Kerry

How do I fix 62HM15 picture. Have sound-No Picture. Have red light steady and Green light blinks 8 times and cuts off and back on.

Usually 8 flashes means the lamp is not lighting.
When most lamps go bad , they physically crack because of excess heat.
The problem is probably the lamp or the ballast, which makes the voltage to light the lamp.
Replace lamp and remember to close the lamp access door after replacing, because the lamp will not light if the door is open an

Power Problem with 2Wire 2701HG-B

Sounds like a startup self test. All wireless devices go through a power on self test. Does it connect? You can connect to it and go online? I rarely turn mine off, only in a electrical storm.

Green led indicator light is off on my 62" toshiba

when you turn it off your light blinks because your internal fans are still spinning allowing the inside of the chassis to cool off, hence the reason you dont watch a DLP TV and then unplug it. DLP's are JUNK

I think that you have a problem with your ballast board this is the power source to the lamp if for any reason it starts to wear out or weak it will not be able to turn on your lamp check this link out it is about Toshiba lawsuit

Just replaced bulb and the tv still does not work? the green light flashes 9 times and the red light is solid

Howdy;
Double check the Lamp installtion. 2) make sure the Lamp DOOR is properly closed. 3) unpug TV from a/c outlet for about 5 minutes. pug back into a/c source.

Are you sure the green light is blinking and not the red light?

Good Luck, Big Irish.

Bad lamp?

If you have the owners manual look on page 64 and see what it says there about the light lighting up in the front of the unit. if you do not have the owners manual, you can get one for free here: http://tacpservice.toshiba.com/ConsumerProductSupport/Manuals/TV/2004/52-62HMX84_E_R1_093004.pdf

If the red light stays steady, and the green light blinks 9 times then repeats, it is most likely the lamp #23311083A about $200. Otherwise, if a cooling fan is not working, it could possibly cause a shutdown problem. You can't always tell a bulb is bad by looking at it. Another possibility is the lamp ballast, but I would try a new bulb first.
