D DRIVE FULL

The first question to ask is what have you got on your D: drive - do you have any movie files saved there? (.MPG .AVI etc) - if so, then these should be either copied to DVD media or to an external USB hard drive.
The next question is what operating system are you using? - if you are using Windows 7 then have you set your D: drive as the target for where Windows Backup should put it's files - if so, then go into the Backup settings and change the number of System images to be kept to be only 1 and also look at how many old backups you have got - you can delete some of the older ones to make more room.
Next, you could install the free Advanced System Care utility software which provides a tool called "Disk Explorer" which will show you what large files and folders are on your D: drive and allow you to take actions to delete, move, put on CD or DVD etc to make more space.
Finally, once you have made more free space, then you would be recommended to do a Defrag of drive D: to improve the performance of the drive - again the makers of Advanced System Care provide another utility called Smart Defrag which can help with this task.
If you are using Windows XP there is also a free utility called Folder Size for Windows which works with Windows Explorer to give you an extra column you can select to show the size of folders on any drive.

I have a Zenith I played a dvd an it worked fine - put another movie in the dvd player and was going to watch that one and it never read - screen kept saying 'reading'. I tried another dvd and the...

try using a CD cleaner disk..

How old is the system?
DO CDs work when you try them?
Put a disk in... remembering the position it was in..
Then try to play the disk...
Eject if it does not play and look to see if it has moved to a different position...
If not, there is a motor problem or the laser is not sensing the disk being there.

Have you ever opened up the main box of the system?
Has anyone else been inside it?

If yes, then maybe it is time to do it again to observe if there is movement of the laser pickup..

Try cleaning the lens, check the tension of the belt that is used to drive the tray in-out, if the belt is loose the tray is'nt aligned properly, this may also cause the problem

Tecra M2 doesn't boot is it a processor problem?

given the symptoms, it points to motherboard.. if it was processor, video or ram. it wouldnt boot at all and you'd just get error beeps from your laptop. i'd first try resetting the bios, by removing the bios battery for 30 min, then putting it back in. if that doesnt work try changing it out, usually costs under 8 bucks. if that doesnt work then I would change out the motherboard, if its cost effective.

DVD burner problem

hi DARBAIL!
I have the same unit like you. I Have experienced that the cd/ dvd burner doesn't work because cables might have loosen up. Check the IDE cable if it was connected properly. Try to Check also the burner eg. Nero maybe it was not installed properly. Check the installation settings If it was installed completely. Try to check also the system of your computers may be the Direct X component was not installed.

If you have tune up utilities, Try to Check it properly using the device manager if it was installed in your system.

Lastly, after you have tried all of this but nothing is happening. Your unit CD/ DVD has faulted. Better buy a new one.

1) Check your CD/DVD Drive (may be is not working or not connected properly) (Check also that in your bios) (Check the cables inside your computer to your CD/DVD drive)
2) Try using different sotware like Nero

If still not working your CD/DVD drive must be replaced

Movies not playing

You might want to check if this happens for all DVDs or just one - sometimes scratches on a DVD can cause a computer to be unable to read the disk.

If it is a problem that applies to any disk, check if the disk is seated properly in the drive. Make sure there are no pieces of fluff or dirt that are keeping the disk from being properly seated in the drive.

As a last resort, open your PC and check that the cables running to the DVD drive are connected firmly by unplugging them and plugging them back in. Be sure to unplug your computer from the wall before mucking about with its insides.

Blue Screen and Computer freeze after using Memorex CD-R & DVD RW

Is it possible to try this drive in another PC? My recommendatoin, if the drive performs to specs in the other PC, would be to perform a System Restore (not the XP one, but rather the one that uses the HP disks). If you do decide to do the restore, be sure to backup anything that is irreplacable as the restore will put your system back to factory settings. Good luck!
