Re: cant connect to wireless
Try resetting the ps3 by turning the power switch on in the back then try holding the power button for about ten seconds. then turn the ps3 back on and try setting up the connection again. you may have to set your audio and video settings again as well.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It can be done via a wired and a wireless connection. For the wired connection, you just need to hook the ethernet cable at the ethernet port on your PS3. For the wireless connection, you just need to set it up under the Network Connections on your System Settings for the PS3.
you can set your playstation 3 online by two ways, 1- by a wired connection, and 2- Wireless,
1-Wired Connection: Plug an ethernet cable from your highspeed modem to the back ethernet input on your ps3 system, and follow on your ps3: Network Connection > Internet Connection Settings > Easy > Wired Connection. and follow steps
2- Wireless Connection: You must have a Router connecting ethernet cable from your intenet modem to the router, and follow on your ps3: Network Connection > Internet Connection Settings > Easy > Wireless Connection and follow steps,
hope this helped you on setting up your ps3 connection :)
Pleaase check if the PC connects when plugged directly to the DSL or cable connection whatever you have without the router in between. That would ensure the functionality of the ethernet card on the other pc.
I figured it out! I am also in a hotel room with only ethernet...and can connect to the network but not to the internet. When I got onto the internet for the first time on my laptop, there was a hotel internet webpage that came up immediately. You have to click CONNECT for 24hrs; 48; 1 week etc. unfortunately for us, Xbox doesn't have a internet browser like the PS3 does. So we can not click CONNECT when we are attempting to connect on the 360. The only reason why I know this is correct is because my friend brought his PS3 to my hotel room and that hotel connect window popped up and immediately we were playing Modern Warfare 2 with "full bars"...Xbox should really add a download for a browser! Like 360 way more. Sorry guys!
you can go wireless, but personally wired is better. what router do you have? switch everything off, plug a ethernet cable from one of your ports on router to ps3 then then switch it all on. on ps3 go to settings - network settings - internet connection settings - then select easy - then whether you wanna do it wireless or wired (up to you) then let it do its thing, once its found all your settings you can test the connection.
Have you set up an account on your ps3 yet?
are you using wifi connection, I mean wireless connection or you're hooking up to a LAN network or through a modem connection?
If all this connection wouldn't worked out anymore, try reinstalling your Operating System!
Using an ethernet cable, bring the cable into the back ethernet port on the back of the ps3. Go into your connection setting and click set up, and then select wired connection. From there follow the quick online instructions. Test by trying to get onto the playstation store if it works it was successful. The same steps go for wireless. Though I would go for a wired setup.
Hi, best way to connect the PS3 is to buy a router, wireless or wired router. and if you go for a wired one, connect the ethernet cable (RJ45) from the PS3 to the Router,
Other option is plug ethernet cable into PS3 & other end into the Network card which will be built into the base unit, otherwise you can buy a ethernet card which should cost you about £10.
but you will need the PC switch on, whenever you want to use the PS3, as well as you will have to configure the network setting to get it working,,
