Question about GE Advantium 120 Convection/Microwave Oven
I don't know how this is going to help you, jomow, but I have the same problem.
Some microwaves have a sensor built in so if the oven gets to hot the
fan will come on to help cool it down. It should shut off when it
senses it is cooled down to the proper temp. If it will not shut off
the sensor may be defective.
Based on what you are describing, looks like the smart board is turning the fan on without any user input. This could be caused by a loose connection from the user interface, or possibly a cold solder joint on the board. My suggestion would be to remove the control panel and verify all the connections are good, and remove the ribbon cable from the board and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser prior to reinstalling it. Of course ensure the power has been removed before doing all that. Then see if that makes a difference. If that doesn't work, then you are looking most likely looking at a new smart board as that is where all the magic happens
to access the control panel..... Remove the two screws along the top ends that hold the vent grill to the cabinet. Once the grill is removed, the control panel is held in place with one screw on top. Lift the panel up to slide the tabs out of the key way and then replace the board.
u can find the boards either at ebay or at a local repair shop
thank you be safe while repairing....
have a nice day
