Radio antenna GOES UP EVERY TIME THE THE KEY IS TURNED ON HOW DO I GET IT TO GO DOWN WITHOUT TURNING THE CAR OFF

That's the default. Some always go up when the power is on. There's no way to change it without doing some pretty intricate wiring and adding a switch.

Motorola gp338plus service manual

Hi,

The only place to download manuals for these models is: join yahoo group specific to your radio Make/Model, there's heaps of info & advice there and you can download manuals, diagrams and other goodies(if available), for your radio. It's free to join.

I hope this assists you with your query.

Cheers,
Peter

I have a Grundig radio S350DL and I cannot switch off the sleep function and therefore the radio automatically switches off after 30 mins. or so . Can you advise? Les. Akers

The Power and Sleep Functions share the same button. If you press the Power/Sleep button repeatedly you see numbers displayed 90, 75 60, ... 01. These are the duration of the sleep functions. If you stop at 60 the radio will work for 60 minutes then turns itself off. This must be a battery saving feature so that a radio will not be on for ever. Suppose the radio has been on for a while (long or short) and you want to turn it off without waiting for the sleep timer. Just press the Power/Sleep button.

My radio powers off every few minutes. Needs to be turned back on by the on-off switch. How can I stop it from turning off automaticly?

When you press the Power/Sleep button the radio turns on and displays a number 90, or some other numbers. This is the play time that the radio will stay on then turns itself off. It could be that yours is configured with a sleep timer set to 01 minute, 10 or 15. You need to set the timer for a longer period. Thus we turn it on by pressing the Power/Sleep button, read the timer length then press again. Keep making short presses: The timer will cycle through all preset sleep timer durations. Select the length you want.

I CANT GET MY MEMORY TO STAY WHEN I CUT OFF MY CAR I HAVE A 1992 BUICK ROAD MASTER

Most after-market decks are supplied with two separate leads for power. One needs to be connected to a "constantly on" source (such as the car battery) to maintain time, memory presets, etc. The other, is connected to the switched power source if you want the radio to shut off automatically when the key is switched off - or connected to the same constantly on source if you want to be able to turn the radio even without a key. The latter method will require that you manually turn the radio on AND off. If you forget to shut it off, you'll probably find a dead battery the next day.

It sounds as if you have connected both of these wires to the switched power source. You'll need to review the wiring diagram for the radio and make the wiring change to have it work the way you expect. Many times, purchasing the vehicle specific wiring harness

for an aftermarket radio makes this much easier. If you cut the old connectors off 9a16381.gifthe car's wiring harness - it's too late to do that. But if it is still intact, you should be able to find the plug in harness at Best Buy (or similar), any of the many smaller, independent automotive electronics shops, and internet shops like Crutchfield.

Where does yhe remote wire on my amp connect to.

The is a wire that comes from your radio. This is the wire that tells the amp to switch on when the radio is on and to switch of when the radio is turned off. The wire on the radio would be labeled "remote" or "automatic ant." (antenna).

Automatic seatbelts, radio/cd player and clock do not work!

Could have the switched 12+ wired to the seatbelts. Which would caquse the radio to overpower the limit set for the seatbelts causing what you are saying. Switch the wire to the ignition source.
