No Video I inherited a theater light controller that is PC XT based. There is no standard keyboard. There is no speaker. There is no display after power on. The video is a Taxan Super Color Graphics card with DB-9 output. The mother board is also Taxan. What is the best way to debug the system to determine why there is no video output? Also, the BIOS chips are custom. Help!

HDMI problems

Make sure you're using theright 'type' of HDMI (if I remember correctly you have 'fast hdmi with build in lan and standard video/audio only hdmi). make sure your pc is fast enough, since hdmi is software based and therefore not 'just a copy' of your screen but rather a second screen. In fact, I would reccomend using a standard VGA or DVI to display on a tv, since it is faster an less hardware intenstif (higher resolution/ less stress on onboard video)
(if you have an older pc, this is the way to go) and use external speakers for your sound

I'm trying to connect my pc with the tv. I cant find the FN key

Most laptops have a 'FN' key on their keyboard, near the bottom-left corner.

Most desktop computers, especially those with a separate keyboard, do _NOT_ have a 'FN' key.

With your SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse-button, click anywhere on your "wallpaper".
Click Properties.
Click Desktop.
You should see two rectangles, representing the "standard" video-output, and the S-VIDEO output.
Click "extend my desktop" onto the second rectangle.

Keyboard volume control???

Based on years of using computers and seeing many keyboards when I used to do IT work, typically it's not standard for many keyboards to have that, sometimes different keyboards might have an "fn" key though which will allow for other options displayed on keys such as volume up or down. I can suggest a keyboard for you with the media keys if you really need it, anyways I hope you're having a good day, and that I helped somehow.

How

A properly connected digital source with 5.1 or 7.1 audio will do it for you.

If you would look at the manual(s) for your equipment you will find instructions on hooking them up correctly.

Can't do much without more detailed information.
