Question about Acer (54.AA806.001) Sound Card
Plug a headset in and see if you have sound, also make sure -double click on the speaker (bottom right-or control panel) and make sure the old X didn't slip into the MUTE box.
Open your device manager and see if you have a splat near sound codec, or any other sound component. If you do update you drivers at ACER:

If you were to log on to the
manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as
usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer
Instruction Manuals and Drivers, as required.
Just Google the manufacturer's name and
follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's
web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they
charge for the information that is normally free of charge.
