Please tell me how to enable duplex printing in my Cannon MP470. This option is checked on the printing dialog box, but only one side of paper is being printed. Thanks in advance for your help! SMK

The printing dialogue box may allow you to select duplex printing but you may have to physically turn the paper over yourself UNLESS you purchased a DUPLEXER for your printer.

If the paper feeds from the back and the finished product comes out the front, you will have feed the paper back into the back of the printer.

Xerox Phaser 7760. Set document to print as double sided, and it prints single sided. Printing from Mac. Drivers up to date. Any ideas?

There are a few solutions to this problem.
1. The 7760 does not duplex from the MPT 2. The 7760 will not duplex certain paper types eg. envelope, transparency, labels, thick card stock, special. If your paper type is set to any of these it will default to simplex printing. 3. Conflicts in driver settings will cause the printer to default to simplex printing. 4. From the machine settings, duplex can be enabled or disabled. (Though driver settings should override this).
Hope this helps.

My HP 4700 printer suddenly can not print on both sides, yet it used to print on both sides. I can't see the option for duplex on its printing menu. Pls help

You can enable duplex printing from your computer, if it somehow got turned off. Open the printer program, and under Configuration Settings, click Duplex Mode, then click Enable Duplex Mode and then Apply.

At the printer, you can find the Duplex options by clicking Menu and scrolling down till you see Configure Device. Duplex is in that menu.

We can duplex copy but not duplex print on the KM Bizhub 250. When printing from the computer, in the Konica Document Properties Window on the Layout tab, when the Print Type pull down screen is activated...

Hello
See if you have selected weight paper from the tray in the duplex mode.
Weight paper is selected in duplex mode only from the bypass.
So you check that the paper in the tray 1 or tray 2 must be plain paper and in duplex mode it can print normally.

Duplex Printing
duplex.gif
The duplex printing function allows you to print data on both sides of a sheet of paper.
The procedure for performing duplex printing is as follows:
Performing automatic duplex printing
You can perform the duplex printing without having to turn over the paper.
1. Open the printer driver setup window, check the Duplex Printing check box, and confirm that Automatic is checked.
duplex1.gif
2. Select Normal-size Printing (or Fit-to-Page Printing, Scaled Printing or Page Layout Printing) from the Page Layout list.
3. When printing a document that has small margins, click Print Area Setup... and set the print area.
When you perform duplex printing, the print area of the document becomes slightly narrower than usual and the document may not fit on one page.

sub.gifTo print without reducing the page:
Select Use normal-size printing.
sub.gifTo reduce the page slightly during printing:
Select Use reduced printing.
4. Specify Staple Side.
The printer analyzes the Orientation and Page Layout settings, and automatically selects the best staple position. Check the Staple Side setting. If you want to change the setting, select another value from the list.
5. If necessary, click Specify Margin... and set the Margin width.
6. Click OK.
Duplex printing will be started.

Performing duplex printing manually
You can perform the duplex printing manually.
1. Check the Duplex Printing check box and uncheck the Automatic check box on the Page Setup tab.

When you execute print, the document will be printed on one side of a sheet of paper. When printing is complete, reload paper according to the displayed message and then click OK. The document will be printed on the opposite side.
sub.gifIf Photo Paper Plus Double Sided is selected for Media Type on the Main tab:
When you execute print, the document will be printed front and back alternately for one sheet at a time. Load the paper according to the displayed messages.

How to enable duplex printing in hp laserjet 4250

This unit needs to have a duplex unit installed if you want to duplex. If the back of the unit is "flat" you do not have a duplexer installed.

the duplex unit slides into the back of the printer between the back door and the paper tray. when installed you will have a bulge on the back of the printer about 7 inches tall and the width of the printer that sticks out about 5 inches.

after installing the dupelxer you may need to enable it in the print driver under properties then the advanced tab you should see a spot for advanced settings.

My Xerox Phaser 6250 won't duplex all of a sudden

I don't have an answer, but I can add some detail since I have the same problem (6250 that suddenly won't duplex).

I have a wired network with multiple Vista machines connected and have been duplexing just fine for YEARS with the same PCs and same drivers. One day my wife complained she couldn't duplex and I messed around, updated drivers, rebooted everything, etc. etc. and finally gave up and sent the print job from my laptop where it duplexed just fine.

About a week or so later I noticed that my laptop would no longer duplex either! Once again I updated the drivers, rebooted, tried different settings, etc. etc. but no luck.

I'm pretty convinced that a Windows patch has caused this issue (which is why there is a timing difference between my machines). I've rolled back my system to remove several patches and things seem to work fine again, however I'm not exactly sure which patch causes the problem AND within a few days Microsoft reinstalls the patch automatically.

Unfortunately I'm not confident that Xerox will put much effort into fixing this driver problem since this is not only an "old" printer, but I don't think many people do much duplexing (so there won't be many people yelling for help).

I'll let you know if I find a better work-around or fix.

Dell 3100cn Duplex won't feed

I'd suggest it is a sensor issue. Since the error comes up, the printer stops responding - even if everything is okay.
