This may sound elementary, but have you checked to make sure the drain plug isn't missing or screwed open? It happens. Also, dissconect any tools hooked up to it and see if that builds any pressure.

Do you hear air escaping when it runs? Sometimes the main brass pipe screwing into the tank leaks - I've found that a few wraps of teflon tape are better than pipe dope, etc.

Charge air pro model ir330e20 builds pressure to only 60 psi and will not stop running

Cbillgreene:

Your compressor is leaking air somewhere between the compressor head and the tank. With the compressor running, feel carefully around the ends of the tube that leads from the compressor head to the air tank. You will probably feel some air leaking around one end or the other. If so... remove the tube and find out which packing has failed.

Hi Jim,

Disconnect your main air supply from the comp head to the receiver/tank and see if their is a reasonable air supply to atmosphere.

If not check that air is being taken in by the head intake filter

I have a Craftsman compressor Model # 919-15292 2. The compressor stopped building pressure because air was continually being released through the unloader valve. I have replaced the unloader valve,...

you must have wired the new pressure switch incorrectly .when the pressure switch opens it will release the head pressure so your compressor must be running with the pressure switch contacts open should be 4 connections 2 marked motor which is from your compressor and 2 marked line which is your power coming in

Craftsman compressor model no 919.153160 Runs fine, but does not build up pressure past 60PSI. Will not shut off as the pressure does not reach to cut off pressure. Where to start looking>

you have a valve problem in head /or leaking head gasket /or a bad leak in system
take off breather and see if it is pulling air it sould not be pushing back
one other thing would be the unloader at pressure switch or tank check valve

WILL NOT BUILD UP AIR PRESSURE PAST 20 LBS.

Check to see if air is leaking past 'pressure relief' valve. It's probably leaking and that's where all the air is going.
