To reset the drum light on just about any Xerox XC or XD series copier press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys) Press "C" then the far left key (exposure mode) then the "C" key then the far left again. So in other words C, far left, C, far left If done correctly the display should go blank. Then key in 24 as if you were going to make 24 copies. Now press the "print" button Now key in 7 as if you were making 7 copies Now press the print button again. You should now be getting flashing zero's on the display. Turn the machine off then on again and your drum light should be gone! You can usually reset this counter at least once to get twice the life out of your drum unit. This works on nearly all Xerox XD and XC Series copiers.

i'm email@example.com, i'm an it engineer in a japanese company based in algeria, i have a long experience with the xerox machines, i think your problem may be caused by many things, first it might be coz of the belt scratches or the belst cleaner, in addition it might be coz of the fuser, so it depends on you and the state of your machine, so first try to check if the fuser is ok with another machine. then check if the belt cleaner is already replaced, if all is ok, it might be becoz of bad toner quality. try also to check the developper test copies. hope u'll find it userfuL.
Here you go. If you have no underlying problems this should work. If it comes right back, you have a fuser problem.
Turn the power off.
Locate the Clear Button, which is grey in color, in the upper right corner above the green Start Button.
Locate the Auto Button the lower left corner of the Control Panel.
Turn the power back on.
Press the buttons in the following sequence, releasing each button after each time you press it: [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto]. Every light on the Control Panel should go out, and the error code should clear.
If the error code has not cleared, wait a few seconds then repeat Steps 1 through 5.
Program the copier as if you were going to make 14 copies.
Press the green [Start] button to store the reset code. The copier will return to the ready position.
