Delete McAfee, take all the other security junk off. I believe you have picked up MS Antivirus. It goes by many names, and you can just sit, and watch until next week, when it comes up with a new one.

This is a Malware program, that tries to install itself, using the false alias of Windows XP Anti-Virus, plus a host of other names to fool users.

Here is more info about it on Wikipedia.org,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Antivirus

This Malware program, makes it so that you cannot access any administrator functions. No Task Manager, no Windows Explorer, no Control Panel, and so on.

I know you hear all the time, about this antivirus program, and that antivirus program. "Try this, IT WORKS!"
All I can tell you is that the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware does work, and will straighten your computer right out. I have used it, and recommended it, Many times. Always works.

McAfee, Norton, Symantec, Windows Live One Care, Spybot Search & Destroy, AVG, Avast, and a host of others, can't touch what Malwarebytes will wipe out! (I know. I tried them all too!)

There is a paid version, and a free version. The difference is that the paid version, operates as soon as you press the Power On button. (Plus a couple of other features)
The free version, only operates when you manually start it. All you need is the free version, to get your computer back to square one. Remember to use it in a regular interval.
(I don't use anything but free software, and would never state using paid software, anyway!)

Information about Malwarebytes on Wikipedia.org,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malwarebytes%27_Anti-Malware
Malwarebytes free download page,
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

After you download, install, and have it running, you will see pop-up, after pop-up. Some are real pop-ups from Microsoft, some are fake.
Look down in the system tray, at the bottom of your monitor. See the two shields? One is real, one is fake!

There will be so may pop-ups, that you won't be able to see the Malwarebytes screen! I know it's inviting to want to click on these, and see if you can get rid of them, but DON'T!
You'll just be slowing Malwarebytes down!

Takes about 32 minutes.

Then it's time to use the Recovery, (or maybe called Restoration), Disk, and reinstall Windows XP Media. If you don't have the Restoration/Recovery Disk, I suggest you go to your computer manufacturers website, -> Support, and Contact Us. (Example: HP is Contact HP)

I would use the toll free number, and call them. Tell them you need the Restoration Disk for your computer. Have the Windows Product Key written down, so that you will have it ready to tell them.

It's located on the back of a desktop computer next to the model number, and serial number, or up on the top/right side of the case.
On a laptop it's on the bottom.

After you insert the CD disk into your CD/DVD drive, it will load, then come to a place where it asks if you want to do a -> Repair, or a Fresh Installation. Do a Fresh Installation.

The only thing I see for now that has been archive by spyware doctor is your braviax.exe. It say it is a rogue malware.

And almost you are running more than 2 antivirus in your system and diagnostic program.

I will post some updates. Try to search for braviax what it is so you can have knowledge first hand.

As joe say I also recommend to install Malwarebytes antimalware. Its light on resources and a killer. There this also antivirus I recommend Avira free, its free and a killer this combo makes a good combination. Just have it always updated and do make scan.

And also unload almost other antivirus. But first install Avira or malwarebytes coz some antivirus don't want other antivirus go together.

But don't touch hijackthis this can be your tools if some new viruses come.

Regards hope we help you a lot.

  • fougzki May 11, 2009

Ok try superantispyware it is also free, just update then scan. Or you can use spyware doctor I think its only trial but can detect some other.

It detects the braviax. In trial it will scan but will not delete the malware files but at least it will give you the log and file path of that. You will work it in manual deletion.

  • fougzki May 11, 2009

And also try to turn system restore and disconnect your computer in the net/cable remove. This is to prevent the virus to be restored.

There are many things that might cause your PC to run slowly. It could be a fragmented disk; fragmented registry; a virus, Trojan, or spy ware; high CPU and/or utilization due to too many programs running; high disk I/O; or something else.

To check your CPU and memory utilization, run Task Manager. You can start Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL and then clicking on the Task Manager Button. In Task manager, click on the Performance tab and check CPU Usage and PF Usage. PF Usage is an indicator of memory usage. If one or both of these is high, click on the Processes tab, and sort the columns by CPU or Memory to see what processes are consuming the resource. If you are not sure what the process "Image name" is for, Google the name and you should find what the process is for.

If your CPU and memory usage are reasonable, then you may have a different issue. Even if you running anti-virus software, it may be beneficial to scan your PC with another scanner to check for viruses. No anti-virus software is 100% perfect at catching everything. Here are a few good free online virus scanners that you can run to check your PC:

Anti Virus

Here is what I would do.

First I would start off by downloading the free trial of ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus. Afterward I would scan my system (In-Depth Scan) with the free trial of NOD32 (It doesn't use a lot of system resources). Next I would download the free version of Ad-Aware 2008. After the anti-virus scan finished I would scan my system with Ad-Aware (Full Scan). Next I would download and install Spybot Search & Destroy. After Ad-Aware finishes scanning I would start a scan with Spybot. Next I would download and install AVG Anti-Rootkit Free. After Spybot finishes scanning I would run an in-depth search on all hard-drives with the use of AVG Anti-Rootkit Free.

If that doesn't whack it, fighting this thing might not be worth it. Reinstall the windows operating system after you back up any files which you absolutely HAVE to keep.
