I just bought the keyboard and mouse set a feww weeks back, mouse works fine, keyboard does not work at all. The dongle that it comes with is picking up the signal of my HP wired keyboard that came with my new desktop PC. Ive followed the steps tht you have outlined and still no luck, any suggestions. Dont want to return the POS keyboard because i like the mouse. Please advise.

It means, your batteries are dead so need to be replaced on keyboard once you replace those the you got to turn it on and once lights comes up then you to to press wireless button for 5 seconds.
once it starts blinking then you got to press wireless button of receiver (bluetooth stack) and once it blinks then your keyboard should be detected automatically.

please post back if any thing changes and vote all answers.

Good Luck.

Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000 for Mac - mouse will not work

At the back of the mouse, there will be small flushed 'reset' button. Press that. It resets and reconfigures the connection. If it still doesn't work, the mouse has gone bad.

Microsoft wireless laser keyboard 6000 v2.0 keyboard not working

You have to press the button on the receiver that is directly connected to the computer. While doing this, press the connect button both the mouse and the keyboard. I did this and now my keyboard is working, despite the battery indicator turning itself off a few seconds after I install it.

Hope this solves your problem.

Seems like new batteries did the trick. Should start simple.

But I am not totally convinced. I will keep an eye on it.

Wireless Keyboard not connecting

I opened up the Logitech Mouse and Keyboard Settings, turned my keyboard off, changed out the batteries and turned it back on. It then detected the Keyboard and asked for a password, I entered in the password, it said it was rebooting it and asked for another password which I entered (both passwords were given to me in the Settings). Now it is working just fine! Not sure if you have tried this but it might work for you.

Stoped functioning

Normal 0 Turn the Keyboard over and locate the small reset/connect button on the back of the keyboard and press it. Then try to see if it is working. If not try pressing the button on the receiver and then on the keyboard.
If your having trouble with the mouse also,
turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps. Bud

Microsoft wireless keyboard stopped working (mouse still works)

I have been fighting this same problem for about 5 months.

I have the Wireless Optical Desktop 3.0 (Wireless Comfort Keyboard & Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0). Three or four times a week it stops working at random intervals. The driver DLLs simply disappear. I can see this by going to Control Panel -> Keyboard Properties -> Hardware -> Properties -> Driver -> Driver Details. The two dll files are there when it works and the dll files are gone when it stops, gone, no drivers at all. An old PS2 will still work in a pinch.

I wonder if the problem may be caused by my Windows Live OneCare or by a Windows Update that keeps reinstalling itself and failing. Alternatively, could it be that some malware is trying to gain control of the PC?

Reinstalling the software & rebooting fixes the problem --for about a day.
